My husband, daughter, 8 yo grandson and I happenstanced upon this restaurant and were very pleased with the experience. Even though we did not have reservations, we were early enough that the staff accommodated us. The restaurant was small enough to provide a restful dining experience--we didn't miss the lack of noise. The mixed olive appetizer was served warm and wonderfully tasty. We ordered various sushi and rolls and all were very creatively presented. We would like to say that by the time we left the restaurant, it was no longer a two-dollar experience but rather a four-dollar experience. The $$ review is misleading. The restaurant is on the pricey side if you wish to feel as if you had enough to eat. We spent over $200 and only had one cocktail each. But, all in all, a great dining experience and we would return.

Came in at midday and were seated immediately; Emily, our server, brought us menus and water right away. We’re on the Keto diet so we asked Emily for assistance in modifying the fish plate to meet our needs...she was so helpful and accommodating! The food was delicious! Fish was moist and flavorful, and the veggies were yummy. The fish salad was so good—really tasty seasoning on the ahi and seared perfectly.Definitely will be back!

What a fabulous dining experience. Jeremy’s food is as refined, creative and delicious as any we have ever eaten. We loved the setting and Paulina’s knowledge of food and service is perfect! Their attention to details and flavors are impeccable and we really appreciated their connection and explanation of sourcing and preparation. We discovered a new food, the Kiwi Berry from Oregon which was delicious and new it was served on a sampler plate Amuse Bouche that also had raw honey mixed with Chinese spicy mustard that was really interesting and good. I caught my wife wiping the last of the chocolate sauce from desert with her finger, which rarely happens. This was one of our favorite meals ever and we will be back for sure next time we are in Maui.

I prefer this place for lunch usually, but took a friend here for dinner. Make a reservation, which is important. We had a nice table in the main entrance area of the room. Servers was friendly. Had their great Paniolo Manhattan to start (Paniolo blended whiskey, carpano sweet vermouth, orange bitters & a luxardo cherry served with a twist of orange). Yum.A must have here is the Maui French Onion soup. Just have it! People talk about Maui onions, well the broth is great as is the smothering of gruyere cheese and croutons. Really good!My friend had the Paniolo ribs as a main course, which were very tasty though we both thought the portion was too small. The side dishes were nice.I had the Aged New York Strip steak as a main course, which was a good portion, but it was not cooked to my liking. It was blue on the bone and I asked for it medium rare to medium - certainly not blue. The meat itself looked good but was actually not very tasty at all, in fact kind of oddly bland, despite hwo lovely it looked on the outside. The sides were better than the steak, especially the mixed mushroom saute... the matchstick fries, though very yummy, were overly salted. All in all a good meal, nice table, always nice to visit there and we will be back, though the steak was a weak point of the meal. Next time I will order something else or return for lunch. Once again, we loved the ONION SOUP! It saved the experience of the meal.AlohaThank you for your review. We thank you for coming in and dining with us and we hope to see you again soon.Mahalo

Flatbread Company

I have reviewed Flatbread a few times before but had to review again because 5 years after our first experience there this still continues to be an absolute favourite! The pizzas are delicious, the drinks are scrumptious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. This is a wonderful restaurant whether you are travelling with family or with friends. For the kids there is the opportunity to colour pictures that actually go in the menus or play with dough or watch the pizzas being made or put in the big open oven. Everything is local, organic, and fresh. The salad there is sooo tasty and one of the best vinaigrette’s I have had anywhere. Made from scratch with pineapple. I love their fresh juices that have no additives, just straight up delicious organic juice. They are also extremely accommodating to any food allergies or sensitivities. Pizzas are creative and tasty. My husbands favourite is the Mopsy’s Pulled Pork. I love the Pele Pesto. I would eat here every day if it was an option. So good! There is only one small downside and that is that the bathrooms here were quite unclean on our last couple visits. However, because I loved every other aspect of the restaurant so much it wasn’t enough to detract from continuing to earn them a 5 star review.

Everything that is served is to[p notch, freshest of fish always, soups( the crab soup is incredible) as are the sample soups you are given. The chocolate pie was superb, just melted in your mouth. The stuffed Mahi Mahi is a treat to behold. The setting is gorgeous, and the flowers displayed throughout are so beautiful. A must DO.

We live in Kula. Saturday around noon we decided to head to the North Shore and thought we’d stop at the food trucks in Pukalani to grab something for a picnic. Surprise! Closed! Really!? So we remembered Baked On Maui. Perfect! The menu is extensive and healthy. As always, the coffee is great. But to top it off, the service is exceptional. It was busy, but the girl behind the counter was efficient and friendly. What a pleasure. And of course, the picnic lunch was delicious.

What a lovely find! My fiance and I decided to plan our trip around local eateries instead of popular tourist spots. Our travel book, Fodors, recommended Colleens and we couldn't be happier about our choice to stop. I enjoyed the Egg Benedict and he devoured the Hangover Cure. Both were equally scrumptious! My only regret is not taking a second to snap a picture (But I didn't want to look like a tourist ;) )

After a bit of a stroll in Makawao, we tried this place for lunch. A nice interior with outside seating and a big bar. We did sit outside and had a local hen as a hostess. We had drinks and ordered Pickle Fries and split the Island Ahi plate. Delicious! We would stop again for sure!! Service was great and the local patrons were obviously having a good time too.
