A little bird in paradise
Reviewed By Michael-UK1967I stayed at the Birdcage for 2 weeks (last week of March/1st week April 2022). Absolutely loved it. So peaceful & quiet, yet only a few mins walk from Yumbo centre. My room was gorgeous and the resort is small (only 9 rooms), which makes it a home from home. Breakfast and afternoon drinks saves you having to venture out until later in the day, so you can enjoy the pool area with other guests or all by yourself (if you're lucky like I was). The staff are wonderful, cant do enough for you, and as there are only 9 rooms, you get to know each other on a more friendlier level than the bigger hotels I have stayed in. Its definitely a fabulous little gem of a place to stay in if you want a peaceful environment. All the nightlife is a stones throw away & the beaches walkable or a short bus/cab ride away. I loved it and I will definitely stay there again. Thanks you Birdcage Resort for making this little birdie have a wonderful holiday. Michael UK

Quiet room - but noisy balcony.
Reviewed By 4larsvWe stayed in the guesthouse for one week, and had each morning a great breakfast. Tip: don’t arrive too late. The host, Alessandro and Carmen, were very frienly and created a great atmosphere among the guests. We chose a room with private bath, but missed opportunities to dry wet towels. The room was very clean and you could choose to have it made up as ofren as needed. Katanka is situated in a big villa in a wealthy villa neighbourhood. Good location in between the old Las Palmas and the beach area - and easy access to many restaurants. We enjoied to sit on the balcony on first floor or in the garden. However the heavy traffic in the streets was quite noisy except during the weekend. This didn’t affekt the quiet room ?. All in all very good value for the money.

Reviewed By Jay3449The rooms are great and the staff excellent but the emergency light(s) by the doors have a really bright green LED that many will find too bright (I did) this can be overcome in some rooms by draping a towel (or similar) over so it didn't spoil my stay but others might need eyeshades! Definitely stay here again another time tho'

Reviewed By 922sannamWe stayed at Maresia for four pleasant days. Location was perfect, staff very helpful and friedly, rooms cute, cozy and clean - we really felt like home. Breakfast was served in nearby cafeteria and everything was quite satisfying in there also.

Fantastic rooftop terrace

We were cordially received at the rooftop and had a pleasant conversation with our friendly and adventurous hosts. We finished our first bottle of Spanish wine, while we whitnessed the sunset. Our appartment was surprisingly large: the hallway measured 1x4 meter, the bathroom 3x4, the sittingroom 4x4 and the sleepingroom also 4x4. Everything was clean and stylish. The following morning we received an extensive breakfast on the rooftop while enjoying an interesting conversation with another guest while admireing the sun rise. We can hole hartedly recemmend this place. Good value for money.

Perfect Spanish hotel in lovely Spanish town

We did choose what they class as their best room which had a huge bed, a chaise lounge and in the corner so we had a great view of the square and the church. It was so lovely we stayed two nights instead of the one we had intended. We ate in the restaurant both nights. The food on the first night was phenomenal but not quite to our taste on the second night. I had the lasagne and I found it a bit sweet. The receptionist was a great help with advice for parking and other things. The breakfast was lovely and the rooftop area was wonderful. Gorgeous little town too. Give it a whirl.

Reviewed By Mary KWe stayed here for 4 nights in February 2022 on a B&B basis but had dinner one night. Overall it was superb. We both slept like logs waking up to the sound of the rooster and then down to an amazing breakfast on the terrace. Would be more than happy to recommend it to everyone as a great base for this part of Gran Canaria and hope to come back some day. Hasta la proxima Uwe and Mary

Reviewed By Jack_daniels1977The hotel location is excellent. On Avda. Tirajana, 5 mins form the beginning of the Dunes/trail to the beach and 5 mins from the Jumbo in the other direction. Plenty of supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants within a few minutes walk in every direction. The hotel has 'renovated rooms' and 'old rooms'. We stayed in both and both were generous in size, with large balconies facing the pool (very good pool with island bar, good ambience, gets sun all day, inviting...). it's true that older rooms are a bit dated but this is reflected on their price which we found very good value for money. All the concierge staff was bilingual and very helpful. A special thank! to the gentleman working the night shift on Saturday 14th May (the busiest night). He went out of his way to help myself and other guests. I totally felt at home at the hotel. I will definitely stay here again. Well done!

Reviewed By sweetytoursWe read all the reviews & were a bit apprehensive..... we had a quick reply to our e mail for directions from airport by bus ( very easy) We had room 21 a lovely room with balcony overlooking the square, we stayed 2 nights & would definitely stay again. The staff were all very helpful, the building is lovely with lots of nice features & lots of choice nearby to eat & drink, we loved LP with all its historic buildings & charm. This hotel is the best 1 star hotel we have stayed in, other reviews say that this hotel is noisy-people gather in the square and eat/drink/chat, the road cleaners start early This is Spain- enjoy

Reviewed By neiltF2459RJJust back from a weeks stay at the wonderful Acuario Hotel. Entrance is on Calle General Vives and quite secluded too. I do think though, that the hotel would be better served by an entrance on Parque de Santa Catalina. It’s pedestrianized and near to many Restaurants and Bars. Hotel Acuario was recently refurbished (2016/17) and it looks great. Rooms are big and airy with large windows and for us there was also a huge King size bed which was so comfortable. There are tea and coffee making facilities as well as a small fridge and two good sized wine glasses. The hotel is very centrally situated. The sea front is about 10mins away and great for an early morning stroll or an after dinner walk to work off all the calories consumed. The staff are very friendly and professional and also very accommodating. Nothing was ever too much to ask and that is always reassuring. To José and the team thank you all very much. Nos volveremos.
