Lovely guest house in a superb location
Reviewed By Melissa BThis is a charming guest house with very eclectic decoration in the room. It might be a little worn around the edges but it is in a very good location, the centre of the village, and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast was very good including home made yoghurt. Great place to stay for a couple of nights while walking in the area.

Jean-Michel and Bernadette Tajan are glad to host you in their charming 2 bedrooms freshly renoved. The house has an exceptional point of view on the Cirque de Gavarnie and surroundings.
Lovely B&B with the best view over the Cirque Gavarnie
Reviewed By LG-Aude-LGChez Sanyou is definitely the best B&B in Gavarnie, and this for many reasons. First of all, it's location is perfect : being perched on hillside, 5-min. walk from the bourg, it offers a stunning view over the valley and the absolutely mindblowing Cirque de Gavarnie. Then, the rooms are perfect : spacious, clean & so cutely decorated, they offers all the comfort needed for a superb stay in the mountains. The bathroom is separated by a fabric curtain, which might not be the best for having private WC moments, but it's cute anyways. Finally, and here is the most important part : the hosts are the loveliest person on Earth ! Very caring & available at any moment, they really treat you with respect & love, and are so helpful for whatever you need for you stay to be perfect. I was lucky to get a room there, due to last-minute cancellation from another customer. And I'll be back there next year for sure !

Not the worst hotel I've stayed at ...
Reviewed By T927RLchrisdWe were on a long distance footpath through the Pyrenees so, as there were no alternatives, were glad to grab a room at the Hotel des Cimes for a night's R&R. Good things: They had a room It was clean Friendly reception Good view Less good About twice the price you would expect anywhere else - we paid less in Paris for FAR better hotel - hostel style accomodation for hotel money. Plastic furniture throughout. Make your own bed Tiny, tiny towel Prob decorated in 1970s Hard really to capture all the quirks there were so many.

Rudest restaurant service ever
Reviewed By Cindy KWe did not stay at the hotel but we ate dinner there. As a treat because I don’t usually eat veal - but hey, I’m in France! Mangez! - I ordered the veal scallopini It was so dry and grisly I couldn’t eat it and could barely cut it (as an aside, the morels in the sauce were quite good). I told the waiter that it was terrible, very dry, etc. and he simply threw up his hands and stalked off. No apology, no offer to replace my entree. I left the entire piece of meat on my plate essentially untouched. He cleared our plates without a word and when the bill came, it included the (somewhat expensive) cost of my entree. We went ahead and paid then I found the owner (and mother of the waiter) and explained what happened, thinking she would offer a refund or again just an apology. Nope. Just a drink. Back at our hotel the receptionist expressed no surprise. Since we are tourists, this place thinks nothing of providing such service. After all, they’ll never see us again. Other diners seemed satisfied with their food and service so I guess it was just our bad luck.

Great stay in a hiker-friendly hotel
Reviewed By Scott_from_VADespite being set in a truly beautiful area, Gavarnie can feel loud and crowded at times amidst the souvenir shops and donkey rides. However, by simply crossing over the bridge to the Hotel Vignemale, you enter an entirely different setting. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the views of the Cirque de Gavarnie are incredible. The staff was very friendly. The manager (who speaks English very well--very helpful for someone like me who mostly gets by on a limited French vocabulary and a few hand gestures) offered to let me dry out my tent on their clothes line. Combined with the laundry service (7 euros, I think--I don't remember exactly), it made going back on the trail much easier. All-in-all, this was a fantastic stay and I would recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

Terrible lunch
Reviewed By OriolgopaWe found hair and fuzz on the bread, it was really disgusting. The food was also nothing special, crepes done with raw egg and chocolate sirup. Terrible crepes, we had high expectations being in France Honestly I would recommend to avoid this place
