This shop is called the store originated Tonkotsu Ramen.The stall opens every night, it is located in a business district in Kurume city.I felt uncomfortable in this ramen at first, because its taste was very different from a typical pork-rib soup ramen.The taste was mixed with soy sauce and pork-rib soup. Noodle was a little thick.However, I noticed that it was original taste of Tonkotsu Ramen during eating. I was able to know the roots of Tonkotsu Ramen.

We ate great stuff at this restaurant: gyoza , fried chicken leggs and a noodle stirr-fry. There is no English card and they do no speak English but they are super friendly! You can either order by looking at other people's plates (as we did) or you can look at the menu on Internet and use Google translate. It is a real adventure but worth it! Also not expensive!

西鉄久留米駅前の商店街から路地を入ったところにあります。駅から徒歩で5分かからないくらいです。人気の餃子店で地元の方、観光客で賑わうお店です。店内はカウンター席のみです。壁にあるメニューも飲み物とご飯以外は餃子のみです。焼餃子とビールを注文して見ていると、鉄鍋に餃子が並べられコンロにかけられます。蓋をして強火で焼かれるます。そのまま食べてみるとカリッとした食感で、アンが美味しいです。アンは野菜多めで豚は少なめな感じです。酢醤油にラー油を加えて食べてみるのも美味しいです。

This is conveniently placed across the Shinkansen station, if for any reason you want to avoid the station ramen joint. Here you have nice people and great service. Ramen with a rather spartan presentation. The place has the typical tonkotsu/boar taint atmosphere, and the soup is indeed very tasty, with that lovely boar taint too. But I’m a bit disappointed for it being too thin and not rich enough. It’s not watery at all, and it's indeed hearty, but I’d expect a lot more blubber & back fat floating than this broth. The noodle was cooked a little too much for my liking and the broth perhaps too hot. I prefer a more user-friendly version - not as scalding hot.

... if you even notice. The ramen is served so fast, within a minute of giving them your ticket, and you'll soon be so into your dish that you won't care. Lot's of history on the walls. Lots of travelers and truck driver (Just off Route 3). Not to be mistaken for a tourist trap, though, as locals love to come here too ... for a quick and affordable meal.

Our Kyushu trip this time can be described as a ramen trip as we've been to many ramen restaurants, many are good. This is by far the best. Excellent noodles and thick soup, the roasted pork one is a must try- thick, tasty and different from the usual thin tender slices. At only around 780 yen a bowl, excellent value too. Well worth a visit.
