another amazing stay

Reviewed By Michael L

We first went to this hotel in October last year and could not wait to go back. We have just spent an amazing 7 nights at the hotel. I feel very lucky to have been able to go back. The location is a little out of the way so if you have a hire car i guess that would be a bonus if you want to go exploring, however there is enough to keep you occupied in the hotel and Uber is very easy to use. The shuttle bus is great for avoiding the hill! The hotel itself has amazing facilities, the pools are inviting and the sun loungers are very comfortable. The hotel was spotless! The additional restaurants are fantastic. We made use of the sports bar restaurant quite a lot during our stay, it was really nice being sat down there and watching all the locals playing paddle ball and catching up with their friends. It made it feel like you were part of the community. I guess the star of the show is the Infinity pool, which is just stunning and because you have to pay for the use of the sun loungers is never too busy. Its well worth spoiling yourself by booking a visit there. The spa is very well thought out and again is never that busy as they keep numbers to minimum. I enjoyed it so much I went twice. It has to be said that the hotel is great, the facilities are amazing but the absolutely best thing about this hotel is the staff, they could not do enough for us, always happy, always smiling. Patient enough to deal with our very basic attempts at Spanish. From the moment we checked in (thank you Jose Miguel) to the waiting staff, we felt entirely looked after and I am very confident that if we had been unfortunate enough to encounter any problems it would have been sorted immediately. I have never been one to make a habit of going back to the same location as I love to explore but we are already planning our next trip to the Higueron!

Excellent location on the seafront, where all the shops and restaurants, 30 metres from the grey sandy beach and close to all shops and restaurants. Enjoy an outdoor swimming pool and a new bar, the Sky Bar with its magnificent sea view on the roof terrace of the hotel. The hotel also has a bar and a restaurant with buffet option.

The pool makes this hotel.

Reviewed By Tallgingerguy

I am giving it 4/5 because the staff here are 100% on it! The roof top pool and breakfast make this hotel. The pool staff work so so hard to make the experience up there totally relaxed and stress less. We had a room on the 12th floor with a sea view , which was incredible. The room however was a bit tired, even though it had had some kind of refurb in the past, but it was done quite cheaply on a closer look. Beds were comfy and pillows were great too, no problems sleeping. Kerb appeal is ok…. It needs a paint job and it’s very close to the bars where the streets are hosed down due to the rubbish and vomit on the pavements.

We stayed in a studio apartment in Stella Maris for 10 nights and had a wonderful stay. We were given a front sea view studio with a nice balcony and wonderful views. The studio was bright and clean and had lots of storage and enough power sockets for changing devices. The kitchen had all you would need, fridge, microwave, 2 ring electric hob, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. Bathroom had stand alone shower with great water pressure. Restaurant had good choice of food and drink served by friendly staff. The shop is open until midnight and a ATM outside. Overall a great stay.

The hotel was excellent, spotlessly clean, great location, very comfortable bed, easy access, and a great touch leaving a treat and mat for our dog. Will definitely return when in the area again. We booked at short notice and had to call to stay an extra night, the girl who got back to me was great and easy to deal with she took care of us no problem.

Disappointing food :(

Reviewed By cariad6

Just left after our evening meal. We often come here for a drink as we like the area & service. But this evening thought we’d eat here with a nice bottle of vino blanco. It was very quiet so maybe we should have been alerted by the lack of customers. My husband had the salmon (very nice) and I ordered the prawn risotto with crunchy vegetables. Only problem was there were NO crunchy vegetables. The waiter just shrugged when I mentioned it? Considering the price I’m disappointed. So, maybe will go back for a drink, but not to eat!

Great location being a 10 minute walk to the bus and train stations. Nice local places to eat nearby down cobbled streets. Really enjoyed breakfast Spanish style with bread, tomato and oil. Overall excellent value for money and the whole hotel is spotless.
