With its collection of historic homes, museums and battlefields, Frederick, Maryland, is a must-see destination for any history enthusiast. The sites of two bloody Civil War battles are preserved at Monocacy National Park and South Mountain State Park. Within the city, visit the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and learn how soldiers wounded in those battles were treated, or visit the house of Barbara Fritchie and picture her hanging the Stars & Stripes in defiance of the Confederate Army.

Nice, comfortable place to stay

The Garden Inn was very nice and our room was comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and Alan came to our room to perform his duties and was very friendly and seemed to enjoy what he was doing. He gave us some tips on places to see/eat and really came across as very genuine. Would stay here again based on our experience.

Diamond member treated poorly

Reviewed By msudoc1495

First let me say the good: clean comfortable. Now the annoying: we had two rooms and are diamond members. We needed a late checkout for valid personal reasons and were assured at check in that when we checked out, two days later we could have a late check out. When we returned from an event and needed that extra hour of sleep we were denied the late check out. We are only talking about the difference between 11am and noon! When I said that we were told it would not be a problem when we checked in the front desk person said “well how do I know that is what they told you”. Are you kidding me?! Who would lie about something like this? And especially over an hour! When asking again very nicely and how much it meant the clerk said it was “deena, the general managers decision and she couldn’t go back on it. So Diamond membership and brand loyalty mean zippo at this hotel.

Location, location, location

Reviewed By lizzlayman

This hotel was perfectly located near Historic Downtown Frederick, as well as the Golden Mile. The front desk staff were very friendly and competent. The room itself was clean, and the bed was large and comfortable with lots of firm pillows. The bathroom was quite small, and there were (old) stains in the shower/tub--but that's been fairly common in hotels I've visited the last six months. Overall, it was a really great stay!

Clean, Comfortable, & Highly recommended! (Thanks Mohamed!)

Reviewed By briannabY7150FQ

I travel a lot with my dog and often have a hard time finding a reasonably priced hotel with all of the perks I enjoy. Upon my arrival I was immediately greeted by Mohamed, who helped me check in. It was a very easy process and everyone here has been VERY friendly and helpful! As far as the room goes, it was a very clean and comfortable room and I had no complaints! Plenty of amenities here! Furthermore, if you’re looking to book at a hotel that has a pet walk area (also very clean) and pet friendly rooms with reasonable rates, AND you also enjoy a room with no drama, I recommend staying here!
