Looking for a restaurant on our way to epinal we stopped in saint loup.Walking around we saw the tripadvisor stars.le menu du jour was very cheap. 13.50 euro.Ãice welcome, very tastfull salade with smoked chorizo and steamed peperoni and a very tastfull 'lapin a l' ancienne' followed with a cheesecake of the region.Very good, excellent.Pitty, 3 days later we went back but the restaurant was complete full.So you need to make a reservation.Walter, belgium

This ex bikerider started a magnificent restaurant away from the highway, By NOT taking the highway when I go from Luxemburg to Chambéry, I pass this restaurant, I have visited this location 5-6 times and I am each time surprised in a good way by the quality, I will come back

My husband and I went to this Pizzeria restaurant expecting a very casual basic menu pizza restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised to find a modern nicely furnished restaurant with a good size menu of other meals as well as wood fired pizza. We were offered a seat either outside on the terrace looking over the lake or inside. We chose to sit inside because we do not smoke and find cigarette smoke very annoying. We were given a table near a window and I had a good view over the lake while hubby had his back to the view. The menu is in French but hubby speaks a little French and he could converse with the waitress who did speak just a little English.Beer, wine and spirits are offered from the bar together with water. Wine can be purchased in a full size or half size bottle. For our meals I ordered the Veal with champignon (mushroom) sauce and legumes (vegetables). The slice of veal was tender and juicy, the sauce was not heavy in mushroom flavour but was delicious and the vegetables were carrots, zucchins and a baked tomato half. I very much enjoyed my meal. Hubby had a steak which came with a butter and herb sauce or he could have had pepper or Roqueford (cheese) sauce for an extra 1.50 euros and he had the same vegetables. Instead of vegetables you can order chips or salad with your meal. Hubby said his steak was juicy and delicious. We ordered the dessert of an assortment of their menu deserts and shared this. It had fresh fruit, creme brulee, 2 sorbets, Chantilly cream and a chocolate profiterole. The service was friendly and good. They also have a children's menu.Cost - We had 2 main meals, 2 half size bottles of wine, shared 1 large dessert, 1 coffee and 1 tea for 72 Euros. Bread and a bottle of tap water were complimentary. We did not book for this Friday night but did arrive just after 7.00pm with only a few people in the restaurant then. After 7.30pm people started arriving with many having reservations. I also saw 1 couple turned away so it is probably best to make a reservation to guarantee your seat. This is not a fine dinning restaurant, more of a modern well decorated friendly place that offers very good food, a lovely location and a nice atmosphere. Good value for your euros. I liked the fact that the table had a fabric tablecloth and we had fabric napkins. This was one of the better meals I have had during our 10 weeks travelling through France. Thank you Du Lac for an excellent dining experience. We are looking forward to returning during our stay in Luxeuil-les-Bains.

Situated in the Casino building but between it and the hotel. Although it is not a formal restaurant some people were very well dressed but others in tee shirts and jeans. The food was very good both in quality and presentation style. There was a good choice between fish and meat. I would eat here again.

Took the menu du jour, which was probably a bad choice. Starter, 3 slices of melon, while not inspiring, they couldn't screw up. The main course was advertised as pork ribs, but should in fact come with a government health warning. Just imagine solid fat combined with horrendous amounts of salt. Disgusting and inedible. Not helped by potato mash made with copious water but NO butter or milk. But SALT. This area of the country is not known for haut cuisine, but no wonder the locals are all so unhealthy!Summary - steer well clear of the worst meal of your life. The wine is rubbish too.You can get a kebab in town which is probably the best local alternative.

Décor is not brilliant but you are not eating that! Very competent French cuisine at a reasonable price. Well accomplished chef produces innovative dishes. The only true French cooking we found in the town of a respectable quality. Recommended.
