After a very warm welcome, which was particularly kind as we arrived after a very tricky day of travelling with two exhausted children, we had a fabulous meal. Really friendly and accommodating staff and a delicious meal. Even our daughter, who is a little cautious about new tastes at the best of times, tucked in. Solemar seves up consistently excellent food in a quiet district in the 16th ("Village D'Auteuil). Excellent selection of mezze, from okra and eggplant to meatballs and kibbe, cooked by the owner's mother and bustling staff. Stand-outs include felafel and beef shwarma, the best in Paris. Lunch specials are excellent value. One caution: The doors may open at 7:30 p.m. but service can be slow for the first half hour or longer as the kitchen gets in gear. The staff is extremely friendly and will also do take-away.

We had to take 2 buses to reach the restaurant but it was well worth it. We were welcome by a great host, who make us feel like if we were in Morocco. We were 3 and we share 1 vegetarian couscous, 1 chicken couscous with raisins and 1 couscous with leg of lamb ( totally decadent), well enough for the 3 of us. Later, mint tea and some Moroccan pastries to complete our meal and we had to roll out of the place ;) As I am not a great fan of the flavor of flower of orange/ rose, the lady brought me some pastries with less orange/rose and they were delicious. We will go back on our next visit to Paris.

An excellent moroccan restaurant. The food is very good but the ambiance is a little plain. Nevertheless, the service is excellent and overall experience very enjoyable. Quite good value as well.

Come to Chez Madeleine if you want the best Mediterranean food in the Paris area. Marlon took great care of us. Madeleine comes out of the kitchen/cuisine to chat. The meals are sublime. Everything on the menu is awesome. We know because we've eaten it all! The wine selection is terrific too. We hope to return.
