Le Nouveau bar à vin et tapas situé dans la vieille ville d'Ãle Rousse a deux pas du marché couvert
Ile Rousse is a pleasant small town where the ferry brings tourists. It was lovely to discover this simple, tasteful tapas bar down a side alley, which was a delightful difference to other touristy places. The food was fun and different but what initially caught my attention was the most delicious smell of cooking which lingered in the street.

This small cafe off the main square offers fantastic Corsican specialities. The menu is quite small but the quality is high. The salads are particularly recommended, and have a great balance of leaves, with tomatoes olives and Corsican meats and cheeses. Service is friendly and quick, and the prices are very reasonable. There is a very good selection of drinks. This is an excellent place for a lunch with authentic Corsican ingredients.

Saetta is at time a photo gallery and a restaurant created by local photographer antoine perigot. Scenic view from the terrace. Mediterranean kitchen, fish and seafood, and also vegetable plates. Tea, coffee, fruit juices and corsican beers and wines.
I've been in Saetta during the summer 2017 (opening) Antoine Perigot wich is the owner has also been a great photographer and artist, while eating you can always admire the pictures and the books he made. Always willing to discuss a moment with you when he is not in his kitchen preparing some excellent and healthy meals ! If you don't like art and discussions, you can always look at this amazing view (come for sunset and enjoy a corsican wine!)I fully recommend the restaurant, take your time to appreciate

We love Corsica and holiday there every year.Recently we have been based in Iles Rousse and have loved exploring the mountain villages.Pigna is a car less village full of beautiful artisan crafts for sale, incredible views, secret alley ways, and stunning restaurants! (Plenty of parking outside the village and an easy walk). Our favourite was U Palazzu - an extremely special place........Imagine a large stone manor house full of polished flagstones, hundreds of years old, beamed ceilings, ancient olive presses, cool cave like rooms steeped in history, opening out to a fabulous terraced garden full of lemon trees and scented herbs....Imagine sitting at one of these serene tables, elevated over the green plateau, crystal sea in the distance, the terracotta village of Corbara shimmering up to your right....Imagine having the delightful waiter, Hugo, bring you a beautiful lunch menu of creative healthy food involving tartines with avocado, exquisite salads, salmon, Corsican hams, egg dishes, delicious smoothie bowls with fresh fruits, coconuts and grains, pancakes and breads made in the palace kitchen.......Imagine dining at night, the same serenity, less day trippers, and a stunning set menu of the highest quality, and watch the sun go down into the sea in a fiery show of reds and pinks.....We came back three times. We absolutely loved it.A huge thank you to Hugo - a very lovely young man who we will never forget. There was another lovely waiter too, with a beard, but we didn't get his name...many thanks to you too :)Hope to see you next year!Julie David and Natalie
