I have tried the fish of the day, the ceviche and the beef and that was excellent (not my first time I have to admit). For my friends that was the steak and they really like it. The wine was pretty good. Itâs not expensive for that level of quality.

Our large tour group dined at L'Orangeraie on a week night and found the food and view worthy of the castle. Our menu consisted of smoked salmon in dill citron sauce was delicious, Blanquette of veal al la Saumuroise was tender and tasty with wild rice and mixed veggies and dessert of tarte tatin with vanilla sauce seemed a little stale. Service staff was prompt. Parking at the castle was at a poorly lit distance from the restaurant. If you are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion with good food, this is the place.

Again another review for this place as I've been back here again. This place most probably has the most extensive local cabernet franc wines in Chinon, I've eaten and drunk their wines here on many occasions and I've NEVER been disappointed. The owners are lovely and welcoming as are their staff. You will need to book.
