We had a restaurant.com $5 off coupon with a purchase of $10 so our bill was about half price. Would pay more though for what we had - Chicago Dogs, shared some onion rings, and coke. Just right for a nice lunch. The owner was friendly, patient, and helpful explaining the choices (we'd probably order the same thing next time - it was great!). There were several friendly "locals" (regulars) eating when we were there - state troopers, retirees, people who work nearby, people who just love Howie's. Howie knows what some will order when they come through the door. Always a good sign for vacationers looking for a good place. The place is small and clean. The food is good. The service is great. They make one of the best and largest subs on the planet. Host of condiments available including Sweet Peppers. They have making subs down to a science and even with a long lunch line, it moves very quickly. Have to say, Publix also makes a good sub but no Sweet Peppers available.

I ordered the steak arepa combo. I'm not sure it was really steak, more like pressed meat. The arepa was so crispy on the outside it was hard to bite into. There was some sort of sauce but it pooled in the bottom and I never really got to taste it. It was disappointing and there are better things to choose from in the area.Thank you for sharing your feedback! Ive been in Ft Lauderdale a week now and have grown tired of restaurant eating. So this place is down the street so I thought I would give it a try. I rarely get to eat a Chicago style hotdog, so that is what I ordered. Just as I remembered it came out quick and it was delicious. Friendly people running the place and very inexpensive. A cash only place but worth stopping at. I will eat here again.

I heard a lot of great things about this pizza and was excited to try it, however, I was not prepared for the actual experience. I went in on a Saturday night (I very busy time for them). They are similar to chipotle in the set-up. They have a number of options you can choose from for your pizza or salad. Most people come for the pizza. I ordered a two topping pizza on accident during the rush of the evening and they put salt and oregano on my pizza. I think the pizza is a good deal for people that like a lot of toppings on their pizza, otherwise, no. The salt that they put on the pizza makes it too salty for my liking. I was unable to finish the rest of it. I also ordered the garlic knots which had pesto in them (I did not know they had pesto before hand, and I do not like pesto). I think I would have had a better experience if I came during a less busy hour and had time to go through my order without rush. I would advise anyone to spend the money only if they enjoy multiple topping combinations and DO NOT get the extra salt and oregano.

We usually call ahead and place the order at the Davie location. They are ready upon arrival, and simply go to the register to pay. You never know if there will be a line or not, but even so, it is worth the wait. The hoagies are fresh, made to order, and delicious! We are never disappointed. Do not miss if you are in the area of one of their locations.
