We arrived today for the 4th of July, to spend a romantic evening together.I arrived this late afternoon to dine with my boyfriend for the holidays. We are such fans of J.Alexander's and have left good reviews before, but today was a bizarre one.We sat at the bar and Michael was our bartender/waiter. He was cold and rude to us. We were so confused as to what caused his mean behaviour towards us. It left a bitter aftertaste to our 'lovely' national getaway meal. What was supposed to be romantic, turned out to be a weird uncomfortable experience. When I asked him to get relish for our Salmon dip, he huffed and puffed to the kitchen. As if he were establishing boundaries not to 'send him off' to get condiments for our meals. It was just too much and we decided to have a Plan B.The blessing in all of this was Kayleen. She came to the rescue and attended to us. She was very friendly, accommodating and the ultimate professional. She got us all that we wanted. I highly recommend her for being a sweetheart. Michael, on the other hand, was a vastly disappointing member of your stellar staff. The food was excellent and the immediacy of service was impeccable. Thank you Kayleen!!!

My husband's and my favorite place for weekend brunch! Specials always interesting....their Lobster Benedict especially superb! Our favorite server is JJ....very personable and attentive, usually having our water and coffee on our table within moments jof us sitting down. In fairness, ALL the servers we've had are great. My husband is VERY particular about his eggs and sometimes they must be re-done. But never a negative word from our server. They're main concern at Courtyard is to make us happy. I must say tho, we were not thrilled about the recent addition of a fifty cent upcharge for an English muffin. Come on, now. We've taken my 92 year old mother-in-law there for breakfast and she was made to feel like royalty by all the guys! We also frequently enjoy Wednesday night at Courtyard for their BOGO dinners. Again, deelish! We recommend Courtyard to our friends, acquaintances and ANYONE looking for a great home-style meal with friendly, efficient service.

Top Hat is a convenient eatery, both as regards eating on their premises or taking out some of their deli ingredients or sandwiches/prepared dishes. Their brisket sandwich is exceptionally good and the service is invariably speedy and pleasant. There's a slant towards Kosher-style cuisine with some classic foods included, such as gefilte fish, kreplach soup or chopped liver but other alternatives are also to be found on their bill of fare. Recommended.

Catfish Dewey’s has the best Catfish, Shrimp, Coleslaw, Hushpuppies, Greens, Servers, & Bartender Anywhere!I frequently eat alone at the bar and Glenn isn’t just an incredible bartender, he’s a top notch server. This month, I’ve also eaten in the dining room with out of town guests as well as local friends, and family. All love it! Portions are generous. Side dishes are just as stellar as the fish, shrimp, and ribs. As for their ribs.... there are none finer in south Florida. If you’re a tourist, go on the first night of your trip so you’ll have time for a second trip before your vacation ends. Yes, it’s that good. An out of state friend visited for a month over the winter. We did the beach, fancy restaurants, theater, deep sea fishing, and even a cruise. He says the only thing he wants to do again, is head to Catfish Dewey’s.Thank you very much! :)-Dewey

Had a Saturday night dinner with friends. Decided we would try Canyon. Jessie was our server and she was terrific. Very pleasant and attentive and helped us with some great food recommendations. My wife and I are doing Keto and I wasn’t sure what to order based on the menu online, but thanks to Jessie we both ended up having terrific meals. The Shrimp and Lobster Ceviche special was awesome and perfect for my Keto program and my Wife’s Ahi Tuna was probably the best I have had. The substituted sautéed zucchini for the wasabi mashed potatoes to accommodate her and it was perfect. Fees and cooked to perfection with a nice seasoned crust, but rare on the inside. Delish !!! Our friends also raves about their dishes and the Bread pudding for dessert. A definite place to check out. I will be back. Thanks Jessie for a great evening. We're so glad you decided to give us a try and pleased you enjoyed both your food and our service. It's always great to try one of our nightly specials + of course save room for our Bread Pudding. See you soon!

See & be seen on our totally tropical patio! Relax & let our fabulous staff serve you a freshly made mojito or chow down on one of our award-winning burgers.

We visited Rosie’s based on a friend’s recommendation. The food isn’t groundbreaking, but it’s good and priced fairly. The highlight was the service. We arrived around 1 pm on a Sunday. It was busy but the hostess seated us immediately. Our server came and we made small talk when we told her we were visiting. I really wanted to indulge in a crab cakes, but decided with a Greek omelet instead (I wanted the vegetables). My friend ordered a chorizo omelet and another ordered a burger. Service was attentive in spite of the restaurant becoming busier and busier. We ordered a few rounds of drinks. We spent about $150 inclusive of tip. Not too bad for four people. The food won’t change your world, but it’ll fill your stomach without breaking the bank.

Wednesday night we had the pleasure of dining at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The service, presentation and ambience are top notch. This is a wonderful spot for an intimate dinner for two, a celebration or a full blown party. Ruth’s Chris Ft. Lauderdale is THE spot!We started the evening with a delightful bottle of 2014 Grgich Hills Estate Grown Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. For appetizers I started out with the Sizzling Blue Crab Cakes, two jumbo lump crab cakes with sizzling lemon butter. Almost all lump meat with just the slightest amount of backfin meat and breadcrumbs to hold them together, so very melt in your mouth tasty! Marci had the Crab Stack, (of course it was gluten-free!), colossal lump blue crab, avocado, mango and cucumber. It was served with a spicy remoulade and was amazing!Next up, the salads. I had the original, Ruth’s Chop Salad; it was, to turn a phrase, classic. Marci had one of seasonal Chef’s Features; Mandarin & Prosciutto Salad, arugula, spinach, pickled red onions, dried cherries, goat cheese crumbles, creamy bacon dressing (with big chunks of bacon). Don’t tell Ruth, I liked Marci’s better! For our dinner, Marci had the 8 oz Petite Filet with the six large shrimp accompaniment. I had the 22 oz bone-in Prime cut Cowboy Ribeye with 3 sea scallops accompaniment. We like our steaks medium rare plus, and they were dead on. NOT your average steak house, these guys can cook! These were accompanied by Roasted Brussel Sprouts with bacon & honey butter, and pan roasted Cremini Mushrooms with fresh thyme. The dinner was delicious and prepared to perfection..As a finale to this delightful meal, Marci, of course, had the Crème Brulee; classic vanilla custard with caramelized sugar & fresh berries and gluten-free! Ever the chocoholic, I had the chocolate duo, molten chocolate lava cake, AND chocolate mousse. The desserts were superb! I must reiterate. Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is a MUST for a special occasion of any type, even if that occasion is just a Wednesday dinner with a friend or the love of your life..Last but not least, a giant thank you to:Natalie Kizer from Uproar PR for setting up this lovely evening.Jeremy Carlisle, GM, for his terrific hospitality.Megan, our server, for her patience & charm without whom this evening would not have been the same.
