Charming hotel located in the town centre, right between the harbour and the main streets of the city (old quarter). Walking distance from all the touristic areas and easy acces to the motorway. Bar and restaurants facilities to enjoy some the best dishes of the Galician cuisine.
Nice views and location
Reviewed By Meaghan OWe stayed here one night to start the Camino from Ferrol. The building is lovely--if a bit chilly (it was early April)--and the rooms are nice. The bathrooms are particularly lovely! I'm not sure I'd stay here longer than one night, but for what we needed it was perfect. We had dinner in the bar which was good and breakfast the next morning in the dining room. I can't have gluten and they had SO many options for me (you just have to ask)! They brought me a whole tray of GF goodies--bread, muffins, candy bars, crackers! It was pretty great. It also meant I had a bunch of snacks to throw into my bag for that day's walk. The location is nice--with lovely views of the front garden, the port, and the naval base. It's also not too far from the starting marker of the Camino (which is important because who wants to add extra steps when you're already going 18 miles!?).

Wonderful Staff and Location

It was a little tricky to find the hotel to begin with but there is actually lots of signage pointing the way once you get acclimatized with how the downtown is oriented. had an issue when I arrived having left my purse in the taxi from the airport. The gentleman at the front desk could see my distress and helped us by making some phone calls to see if we could locate the taxi driver. A happy ending when the driver came in with my purse. While my tour company just said we can’t help since you didn’t book the taxi with us, the gentleman at the front desk went above and beyond to try and help me. The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The street is a little noisy but that is typical in a Spanish city. It is centrally located, close to anything you would need including a supermercado if you need supplies prior to starting your walk. We really enjoyed the Bla Bla Cafe which is close by as well. Thanks for a wonderful stay and your kind assistance.

Affordable and comfortable hotel
Reviewed By edvascThe room was clean and comfortable. The furniture is a bit outdated, but well maintained. The staff was friendly and the entire place ambience is good. Bathroom was clean and is spacious and with a bath tube. What can be a problem is that the hotel is far away from Ferrol's city centre, located in a new neighbourhood at the city entrance.

visit to city of Ferrol by train
Reviewed By cjrscentral location, large and comfortable rooms with poor sound insolation, cost higher than expected. The large number of closed shops in Ferrol indicates that city is loosing economical importance. Naval Museum and see a the “Mininas” at Contido justifies visit this city by traveling in train from A Coruña! One of the last metric railways (FEVE) of Spain goes from here to Ribadeo .

Economic hostel in the center of Ferrol
Fantastic value for money
Reviewed By Gogs63My wife and I stayed at Hostel La Frontera the night before we started the Camino Ingles. At the price we paid we could not have asked for anything more. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the shower was one of the most powerful that I had every used. We had a good nights sleep and a coffee in the morning before setting out on our walk. La Frontera is not the Ritz but it gives excellent value for money.

Reviewed By MarianjelaCI booked a room for 2 people and it was exactly as in the picture i have seen! The room was very comfy, every day clean and the hostel is in the center of the city. The restaurant under the Hostel serves delicious local food and the service is very friendly and professional!! In general, even though the staff did not speak English, was very willing to help. I totally recomment it!!
