Reviewed By mltreppaVery clean and comfortable for a one-night stay heading to Redwoods NP. Hannah at check in was very upbeat and super helpful - pleasant after a long drive. Breakfast was the standard eggs, sausage, waffles, etc plus outstanding home fried potatoes. We would stay here again.

Reviewed By CharlotteM452This is the worst motel any of us had ever experienced. Apparently it is known, locally, as the 2nd worst in Eureka. The patrons didn't even attempt to conceal the drug deals and prostitution in the motel. The rooms smelled so bad that a person could never sleep in them. They were so dirty that we didn't even sit down while we searched for another place to stay. I doubt they employ a housekeeping staff. This motel should not even be on Expedia. It doesn't meet even the most basic measure.

Older motel, in the older part of town

There is a nice shiny, new/different heating/cooling unit, of a type we’ve never seen and there are no instructions, so we never managed to bypass the child lock function. The service was good, providing extra hand towels & a pillow (the king-size bed had the standard 3) on request. We stayed in the ADA room, which was surprising bare of furniture (only 1 chair, no desk) to provide room for wheelchair movement. A refrigerator with no freezer unit, a microwave, and two nightstands completed the furniture. There is a heated floor and a roll-in shower in the bathroom. It was not too noisy, despite being on southbound Highway 101. We would NOT going down to 3rd Street but doing all traveling via 5th Street, northbound Hwy. 101. 3rd Street instantly turns into the homeless/mentally disabled region. We couldn’t even make a right turn onto 3rd because one homeless man, towing his belongings in a child’s wagon, stood in the crosswalk and screamed at us.

Horrific disgusting room!

We drove up from Sacramento and booked two nights, and it was almost 9 o'clock by the time we checked in, so we decided to just sleep and make the best of it. Walked in and it immediately smelled bad. Looking around I noticed mold on the window sill, AC, counter top and shower. The outlet on the lamp was broken and held in with packaging tape. The microwave was drawn on with sharpie, probably to cover the light but had obviously been there a while. There was also hair and soap in the shower. The towel rack is clearly broken, and every time you pulled some toilet paper, the holder pulled out of the wall. The fridge was dirty and smelled like death. The table tops had clearly not been wiped down as there were cup rings and food crumbs on them. Thank god I brought my own Lysol wipes so I just wiped everything I could, and we slept. We left in the morning to spend the day with family. About an hour later, my daughter complained of having a headache and felt like she had a fever. Went to Walgreens for Tylenol and a thermometer, she had a temp of 102. We ended up going back to the hotel to figure out what to do. She ended up falling asleep, so we waited for her to wake up. While looking after her, I noticed several staines on the blanket that I hadn't seen the night before, and I know for a fact they were not from us. Then I sat on the other bed and notice that the sheet had pulled up off the side of the bed, revealing the absolutely disgusting, rancid, stained mattress that I had slept on the night before. I wanted to vomit. I have never in my life seen a mattress so nasty. That was the last and final straw. My husband immediately got online and booked a room elsewhere. We loaded up the car and left. We came to the nice and clean Holiday Inn Express down the street, quickly showered and finally feel like we can relax. My daughter is feeling much better too. Not only will I never stay at a Clarion again, I will never stay at a Choice Hotel again. Covid and short staff is NO EXCUSE for MOLD and a DECAYING mattress! If you can't take care of your hotel then maybe don't own one!! So much for a nice Mother's

Disappoint desk staff
Reviewed By jordang458I would first like to say my interaction with one staff member in particular was rude and she didn't care one bit when she charged my card twice and lied about it saying she only had one receipt. My banking app lets me know anytime q transaction is approved or declined both charges were approved. I had my bank (1800#) call her and as a customer service representative explained to her that she did indeed charge my card twice she began to question him, then said well if i refund you your money i quick out your guest. She was BEYOND unprofessional, its clear there was a HUGE LANGUAGE barrier and she barely or pretended like she didn't understand either way i did not feel comfortable with then having my card information, which i asked be removed from their files. She at one point stopped answering the front desk phone completely, i called from my second number she refused to answer, so i called from a third number and she still refused to answer. I recorded all of this for documentation, and i believe i deserve a full refund for both nights for the disgusting customer service i receive. I've worked in the hotel industry and at the front desk at that. The way you treated your guest, to be frank you wouldn't have a job anywhere else. Please if you do choose to stay here pay close attention to how many times they charge your card. I had to send booking. Com and wait 7 days for them to refund me for her mistake. I didn't receive and apology, or anything other than POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
