Reviewed By franrogerjThis little hotel alongside the Notre Dame Cathedral is beautiful. It combines a medieval building with a sense of modern style. It feels so French! The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, with elegance and practicality well balanced. The breakfast was a standard continental one, but good. Parking is difficult because of roadworks and restricted access, but the owner was very helpful with directions and a map. We loved it.

Budget hotel with free on street parking outside
Reviewed By EKSAYERSThe enterance to the hotel was less than welcoming. You got the key from the bar next door and paid in advance. We took the breakfast. The room itself was clean and reasonably comfortable with a shower only bathroom that was bijou. The wifi worked well. The breakfast was taken in the bar next door and was the usual French fare. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is on the outskirts of Chartres and not a great area. The hotel was good value for money.

Charming accommodation for our stopover
Reviewed By 75JvDIt was worth driving the few extra miles off the Peage to stay in this castle on our way to the Dordogne. We stayed in the family room, with our 2 young boys who were very happy with the small indoor pool. The room was lovely and we really enjpyed the breakfast in the morning, where we shared the table with the other guest. We felt very welcome.

Very comfortable B&B with safe parking and easy walk into Chartres
Reviewed By erntravelsWe spent one night in "Suite Clarisse" visiting Chartres. The "suite" of two rooms is separate from the main house and included a sitting are with fridge, sofa, table, chairs, and tea/coffee maker. The bedroom had a comfortable bed, dresser, hangers behind the door, and chair. There was a separate toilet room with its own sink and a shower room with sink, stool, and towel warmer. Amenities included 2 very large, small, and hand towels, 2 small soap bars, shampoos, and tissues. Wifi was good. Parking is behind a locked gate, so pull your car off the road and ring the right hand buzzer so the owner can let you in. The continental breakfast included orange juice, coffee or tea, and wonderful French pastries. The owner was very courteous and helpful, recommending several restaurants. The walk to the beautiful Chartres cathedral and restaurant area takes about 15 minutes . Be aware that payment is in cash at this time. We would stay here again when visiting Chartres.

Reviewed By FoodieOswestryNot so much an hotel but self catering apartments almost next door to the cities best attraction, the cathedral. My wife and I had La Chapelle, a very modern apartment on the second floor and with a view of the cathedral from one window. It was spotless and extremely well appointed for self catering, we were only there for one night so did not have the opportunity to take full advantage of it all. My wife and I both said it was a pity we were not staying longer. Under normal road conditions having to book in and collect the key from the parent hotel opposite the railway station would not be a problem but during our visit the station road was dug up and there were diversions in many roads leading to it so it was not that easy to get to, we ended up going down a road temporarily restricted to taxis, I await the fine! A pain but by no means anything to put one off. There is no road parking but there is a massive underground carpark two or three minutes walk away so parking is no problem at all. it is not cheap but then no city centre parking is. Despite the proximity to the cathedral we only heard the bells once on the Sunday night, Monday morning we were there and there was zero noise from the street. Breakfast was not included but the restaurant, in the same building, offered one which was quite a typically French and perfectly acceptable. They also offered a Plat de Jour Sunday evening but it was of the take it or leave it type and as the main was veal, we left it. There are any number of restaurants around the cathedral area so finding one you fancy is easy. There was just one problem with the place which I am sure will have been fixed by now. The floor covering is the same throughout the apartment and there is a small step, no more than six inches, between the bedroom and bathroom area and the only demarcation is a small metal strip. I almost tripped up it in the middle of the night, in the morning my wife missed it completely going into the bedroom area, which she did at the horizontal, flat on her face. Fortunately no serious damage was done, it just shook up both her and the building! A more prominent marking of the step would perhaps save a serious mishap. Regardless of this and assuming most people are not clumsy klutz like us, I cannot recommend the place more highly.

Bedroom was just amazing. Friendly welcome. Delicious evening meal outside on the terrace. The friendly owners accommodated our early breakfast. Can’t recommend enough. Magnifique.

Reviewed By antoonsixsmall hotel (about 20 rooms) located in a very small village. we spent one night in this place with 6 people. restaurant closed on sunday evenings !!! and almost nothing else to find in this village except maybe the pizzeria. the hotel has been almost totally renovated. very clean and very friendly staff. reasonable breakfast at very reasonable price. good place for a one night stop

You can tell the owners really care about the place, lots of nice touches and a real homely feel (communal fridge and table area with refreshments available). The bed was really comfortable we slept great. The road is very quiet with plenty of places to park. The breakfast was fresh with great variety, (homemade jams and fresh fruits, bread, french toast etc). A short 15 minute walk to the centre (free bikes available). Owners were friendly and open without being overbearing, definitely recommend and hopefully will be back!

An unexpected gem
Reviewed By CanallettoA lovely renovated hotel , love the decor , great view of the abbey and garden from our room , very comfy bed , large shower , we also booked breakfast - lovely fresh croissants, and dinner . We found this hotel / restaurant as wanted to try a Logis . The food was very well priced at 29 euros for 3 courses . The food was very freshly prepared , attractive on the plate and we loved the amazing tastes. The guys who are running it are friendly and efficient. Only minor downside was being locked out on 6pm check in after a 12 hour journey, only one large towel between us and not many toiletries! The Abbey and gardens next door are delightful too and worth a wander around the corner for a visit .
