Unlike many of its coastal neighbors, cultural tradition remains strong in Estepona. With more than 12 miles (20 kilometers) of palm-fringed coastline and a historic old town famously decorated with bright blooms, this harbor town is undoubtedly one of the prettiest on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

Good hotel with friendly staff

Reviewed By TraveldadLondon

We had a very good stay. The room was large and clean with a balcony overlooking the garden and sea. The bathroom was large with dressing area, toilet, bath and shower. Despite being on the A7 there was no road noise. We found all the staff excellent and friendly: big shout out to Bea at the pool for being so friendly (tip to management - help her learn English and promote her) and also Laura who had some great restaurant recommendations. The pool area was clean and regularly sprayed for mosquitoes. We also enjoyed the adults breakfast which had good coffee and fresh OJ and a decent selection. You can’t avoid some of the negatives: the beach is stony and is next door to a few nudists. The hotel is out of town and you need to drive/take a cab. The decor is a little tired. The evening buffet was just ok. But this is reflected in the price (eg Kempinsky was 3x the price). So for what you pay. I think this is a good deal. I agree that 5 star is probably a push but the star system is about facilities not luxury. Don’t expect the Four Seasons and you won’t be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I booked a last minute holiday online via on the beach and out of loads of hotels im over the moon that we chose Sol Marbella. The whole experience was so lovely we are actually looking to book again for this year. One of the nicest hotels ive ever had the pleasure to stay in. It was spacious, clean and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. We paid a little extra for a sea view room and WOW waking up to that every morning was just beautiful, we could not only see the sea but mountains also! A holiday ill never forget. The only think Im sad about is that we only booked 6 days as it just wasnt long enough to enjoy all the hotel had to offer, but as i said WE WILL BE BACK! If you’re looking for a sign to book this hotel then this is IT! Dont think just book, you wont regret it! Couldnt have asked for more honestly it was amazing!

Don’t go all inclusive, food terrible!

Reviewed By RamblingRambler29

We stayed here only for a couple of nights after a concert. Our usual in the area requires a minimum stay of 5 nights so thought we would try here as we had a nice stay at H10 Tinerfe in 2020. The hotel is a lovely relaxing hotel and very pleasant beach (beach shoes recommended). The drinks were great also, good quality and great measures. Room good also, but bathroom a bit tired. Chill out bar great, but if you’re all inclusive, you can’t get served here, crazy. Pools good. That is where the positives end I’m afraid. . We stayed all inclusive and to be honest the food was terrible. It all reminded me of all inclusive of 20+ years ago. Poor quality, poorly cooked and very little choice. Barely any warmth. Stale bread. Fruit ok. After the first “meal” at the snack bar we immediately regretted paying for the all inc option and hardly ate anything afterwards. The chicken tenders I wouldn’t feed to my dog. The chips had various cooking batches in them, some raw, some over cooked, some completely cold (genius how the did that). Worst food I’ve ever had. The buffet is not much better to be honest. Just had fruit both evenings. People were constantly waiting for items to be cooked or refreshed. There were simply just not enough staff to supply what was required. Staff were ok but there were too many plates being left around and not cleared so birds were straight on them. Not enough staff perhaps. This could be a great place if you improved the food and cleaned the place up a bit. We had a couple more nights to book and if the food had been better, we would have stayed here but chose to move on and the buffet at new place reminded us how bad the H10 food was. So so so disappointing, there is no way we would ever go back here because of the food and we’ve scored it so low because the food was so bad!! Feel we were robbed going all inclusive for €65 each per day. There isn’t much nearby, so you don’t have much option than to eat here if you’re not very mobile We don’t drink a lot so didn’t get our moneys worth even though the drink quality was good. They still charge the very antiquated safe charge, it just puts a bad taste in people mouths (not as bad as the food does though), the safes owe you nothing, just stop charging for them. As our patio door wouldn’t lock, the lack of a free safe was even worse and just took valuables out with us. Place needs a good jet washing in outdoor areas, outdoor restaurant especially. Sun beds need get washing too, especially on the beach and the chains on sun beds are crazy and make it difficult to position them as you want them. As stated, we wouldn’t go back, which is a shame as some aspects are promising. Firstly improve the food it was terrible!!!

Stayed here for 3/4 nights as a stop gap to travel to Seville for the Europea League final ⚽️ Went as a group of 5, on arrival the staff were very friendly. Hotel is slightly out of the way on a main dual carriageway way with not a lot nearby… Rooms are nice and spacious, a little dirty. Hotel in all seems a little run down and quiet. Bar area was nice, served fantastic food- always 10/10. Bar staff extremely friendly and helpful- a little slow at times! Pool area was nice ?? A lovely Beach bar a small 5/10 minute walk from the hotel ? All in all would recommend for a short stay, but perhaps not a holiday

This hotel is clean but basic and needs some urgent TLC.. it's in the middle of an urbanization ... to get anywhere you will need to take a taxi which adds to the cost.. you could walk to the beach but means crossing a very busy dual carriageway and will take approx 15-20mins.. good thing about this hotel is plenty of sun beds - no getting up extra early to make sure you have a sunbed... you can hire the pool towels for 10 euros each and these can be exchanged for clean ones each day - you also get your money back at the end of your stay when you return the towels... our stay included breakfast and evening meal... food adequate but nothing wrong with it.. remember to take t-bags as English Breakfast Teabags were rare at breakfast !!!!

Almost Perfect

We booked a 4 night stay at Kempinski at the end of our trip around Andalusia. Our room was very comfortable with plenty storage, a bath and seperate shower cubicle, and balcony with great views over the Mediterranean. The hotel was very quiet with it being not quite summer season yet so some facilities were limited. Lunch and dinner were only available at Spilers Beach Club- the same menu for both but good food and service albeit quite pricey (could charge to your room). Snacks available at the hotel bar. Pool bar didn’t open until 16th June but you could get drinks from Spilers and there was also a barboy taking orders at sunbeds. One pool was closed but the others were fine for swimming, very quiet and not overly cold (24 degrees). The breakfast buffer offered lots of choice including lovely fresh fruit and omelettes made to order. Hotel staff were all fantastic and service was always excellent. We were a little disappointed at the limited dining choices on site but front desk made dinner reservations for us in Estepona and both were excellent (taxi about 10€ each way). Only other negative was that there didn't appear to be much attempt to tidy up the sunbed area at the end of each day - we found ourselves picking up litter and empty bottles etc every morning before settling down for the day. In summary, a relaxing stay in an excellent hotel - just what we needed.

Family Holiday with three children

We spent a lovely 11 days at Playa Andaluza over the Easter holidays. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the indoor pool and kids club was a big hit with our children ages 6,8, 10. The outdoor pools were lovely but the water freezing so we enjoyed the heated indoor pool and hot tubs. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in the Granada building. It had everything we needed to make a home away from home and a daily cleaning service. The weather was a bit hit and miss at the beginning of April but we ended the holiday with some beautiful, hot sunny days. We will return.

The breakfast buffet is huge and has something for everybody. Free Wi-Fi did not work in our apartment, but when telling the staff we received a free pass code to the paid Wi-Fi instead. Great service. When facing the golf resort and sea, you Can unfortunately hear the high Way. Some days less and some days more. But the view is fantastic.
