Beautiful sleep in a beautiful room in a beautiful setting!

During our short stay on Orcas Island, my husband and I had a delightful time here! Our attractive room contained everything we needed and more, and the bed and its furnishings were amazingly cozy and comfortable! I loved the forested area near a pond and the sight of goats and apple trees near the parking area. I enjoyed our attentive, pleasant hosts, and appreciated the chocolates in a trout-shaped container that we found on the bed upon our arrival. Highly recommended!

Awesome host

Reviewed By Dwight G

Gail was the the absolute best host one could hope for. Gracious, kind and one heck of a cook when it came to breakfasts. But that experience was years ago. As of 2022, she is now retired and this place is no longer booking guests.

My husband and I visited Orcas Island for a week in August this summer. The Anchorage Inn studio apartment we rented was perfect: quiet, peaceful, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Lilli was a friendly and informed host; we enjoyed visiting with her when we encountered her--not often, because her services were mostly performed invisibly. We felt as though we were vacationing at our own place!

Orcas Suites at Rosario

Ok rooms, great food, even better views!

Reviewed By Nick E

Overall the rooms were fairly basic, we did have water views from the suite. I had heard mixed reviews about the restaurant but I have to say I really enjoyed the restaurant, the first night the dessert stood out the most, a "deconstructed" cheesecake, it was awesome. We ate there a few more times during our stay in Orcas and overall were really impressed. We would definitely stay there again.

Cascade Harbor Inn

Nice March Visit

Reviewed By western u

We took advantage of the $89 rooms Rosario/Cascade Harbor Inn offered through March. We were blessed with good weather. The furniture in the rooms have been updated from when I came hear in the 1990's. The bed and linens were nice. Staying at Cascade Harbor Inn gives one access to the workout room, hot tub and pool at Rosario. The workout room is better than most hotels. It could use some more free weights, but still is by far better than most. The room was clean. We had a nice view looking over East Sound. The exterior and some of the interior of the room is a little dated, preventing an overall excellent rating. All but the most picky traveler should be quite satisfied with this choice of hotels. We didn't have any neighbors, so I couldn't comment on the complaints from others about noise. Enjoy your stay here.

Kangaroo House Bed & Breakfast on Orcas Island

This historic Craftsman Bungalow was built as a vacation hotel by a stone mason in 1907. In a later incarnation, colorful resident and steamship captain, "Cap" Ferris brought a baby orphaned kangaroo to live with him and his family. The locals dubbed the sprawling lodge the "Kangaroo House" Since then it has become a B&B and is the longest continually operating bed & breakfast in the San Juan Islands. We have 5 Rooms/Suites, all with Private Bathrooms, King or Queen beds and some with additional beds and DVD players/movies, Free WiFi, Garden Hot Tub, and an exceptional, filling breakfast made from scratch including wholesome, local fruits, meats, vegetables and herbs from Orcas Island's own farms and gardens.

Great friendly knowledgeable local staff. We were provided a list of local businesses and restaurants availability and hours. That was super helpful. The room needs a little update but very functional and cozy. Fully furnished kitchen was nice, all you need is to bring the food. Really enjoyed this place and would book it again. Walking distance to anything you need.

Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast

Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast is located on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. The BNB is a 1910 house that was once the home stead for the West Sound neighborhood. Previous owners include the islands doctor in the 1960's. The house was converted to a 3-room BNB in the 1990's. The house still has its original hardwood floors, molding and decorative front room windows. The BNB sits directly across from West Sound and overlooks West Sound Marina with views extending to Shaw Island and Deer Harbor. Conveniently located to both trailheads for Turtleback Mountain and a short drive to Deer Harbor and Eastsound. Having been upgraded through the years, including a new state of the art heating and cooling system and electronic door locks. Projects are always in the works, including turning the original front garden area into an outdoor seating area with a fire pit and barbecue. The Blue Heron has a minimum guest age of 12 years old.

Blue Heron B&B on Orcas Island

We had a wonderful visit to Orcas Island, while staying at the Blue Heron B&B. The Blue Heron B&B room has a beautiful view of Puget Sound, the breakfast was delicious and varied for all tastes, the room and building are quaint and clean and tidy. Across from the B&B is a public dock to walk out onto for views. I want to thank our host, Shawn, again, for taking the time to pack up and ship back to me my spotting scope and tripod which I had forgotten. Thank you Shawn! I recommend this B&B to everyone who is looking for the best place to stay on Orcas Island.
