The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Hamar. The municipality of Hamar was separated from Vang as a town and municipality of its own in 1849. this was an evening with live music and nice food. This is a restaurant with nice interior. Almost the whole evening a young band was playing and entertaining the guests. They were really very good and made the evening to a very special experience. My food, meat, was good but my friends was claiming of too over fried fish. Overall a nice evening.

Kakene er alltid like delikate og det er et behagelig sted som også har bord utendørs. Hele senteret er forresten førsteklasses. Kaffen er også veldig smakfull, men koppene er ille små, hehehe. Brødene deres er snart de eneste jeg nyter å spise. Alt dette er relativt gourmand, og jeg tror driverne eller eierne av produksjonen har litt vanskeligheter med å se viktigheten av sitt konsept fordi ingen overgår dem i et stort område. Og jeg takker igjen for en fin opplevelse. Denne gangen med mamma. På vei til å se Elton John. Wow. De får det til på Hamar, altså...! Men lyden var forferdelig, dessverre. Da kan man tenke på alle de gode dessertene hos dere, og kule ned. De har også slikt som most. Tusen takk.

Got a perfect done Steak Argentinea.. good portion and a lot of taste! Very quick service and calm, nice people serving. The berry pannacotta for dessert was excellent! Nice atmosphere....country music and saloon look on the inventory.....loved it!!! Sorry for me that I have to drive this night....cause this was a place were you can fill up with some good wine or beer too!!

This place has really changed since last year. The location is off course the same but the service and food has improved dramatically. We got a warm welcome, the food selection is goo and it tastes great. The bartender made me one of the best Irish coffee I have had outside Ireland. Definitely a place to go back to.

Hamarstua is located next to the cathedral ruins in Hamar, with beautiful views of the lake. Perhaps surprisingly for such an inland place, it has superb seafood. If you're there go for the seafood platter. Quite expensive - but superb quality shrimp, red crab, king crab, langoustine, crayfish, scallops etc., etc. Add to that a nice atmosphere and you're certain to have a great time.

Behind the doors of this old brick building you will find a variety of French inspired food and pizza. My party went for a 6/7 course set menu. An excellent choice that included delicious turbot and beef main courses. The consomme of fish was a bit salty as a starter. If you are very hungry the 7th course was a well composed cheese platter. The service was great all evening. It is easy to accept the wine menu that comes with the food. Despite good wines we found the package a bit expensive. Also, following three glasses of white wine along with the first 3 courses, we ended up with 4 cl of red wine to match the beef! However, our waiter generously poured another 4 cl when we made her aware of the "problem".

On our way down the valley towards Oslo and needed dinner quickly. Decided on a pasta dish and got it very rapidly served, very tasty and nicely presented. Nothing special, no definite taste nor frills. Good but not impressive. A good place to meet for young people in town. Centrally placed. Recommendable for an easy meal.

The staff is helpfull and profesional, the atmosphere is cozy, homey and relaxing. The meny was exiting with cool takes on Norwegian classics and french cousine. We had grouse with mushrooms as starter. The mains were slow cooked wild boar with root vegetabels and deconstructed beef bourguignon. Everything were exellent and perfectly cooked. The wine cellar is wery good!!If you are wisiting hamar, this is one place you dont want to miss!
