We partially chose this Inn because we love B&B but this is not a B&B, no breakfast instead an envelope with a coupon to a greasy spoon located 6 miles away in Bar Harbor. No host to welcome you, envelopes with the room name are displayed on a table with a key inside, The front door must be left unlocked 24/7. It is in a country setting but close to the main road, very noisy. I could get past all the tacky garage sale decor but not the bed. The mattress was the worst, soft, lumpy, dangerous to a person's back. They call it no contact hosting, I say no effort, no pride and no respect for guests.

Lovely spot, great hosts

We spent 2 nights in Room 2, which is spacious and comfortable. The Inn's grounds are beautiful and well maintained - we spent some quality time sitting in one of the pairs of Adirondack chairs, looking out over the water and just generally enjoying the place. We enjoyed two breakfasts that were as delicious to look at as they were to eat. And we especially appreciated the gracious hospitality of Lindsay and Al.

I felt pampered

Reviewed By JenniferandAlan

This spring my husband and I decided to do something new for us--explore the bold coast after spending a few days in Acadia. After fighting the crowds in summer, we decided to visit off season and what a good idea it was. We nearly had the place to ourselves and were able to take advantage of off season rates. The Inn was wonderful. The rooms were a good size, the bed was comfy, the room was clean as was the bathroom which had plenty of fluffy towels. The best part of all was the view. Our room was in the repurposed sardine factory and had its own balcony overlooking the harbor. A table and two chairs were provided on the balcony as well as a table and two chairs indoors by the glass sliding doors so you could stay inside and see the view or go outdoors in good weather. If you needed even more space, there was a common area with sofas and a full kitchen if you wanted to cook your own meals. We weren't even tempted to cook as there was a good restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner adjoining the motel. There was plenty of parking. The only thing there wasn't was a TV but we never missed it. We prefered the view and listening to the ocean. There was internet access also. A great place to stay!

Super relaxing inn. Owners treated us like family. Provided breakfast was way more than expected and we were unexpectedly given a brown bag breakfast on the morning we flew out since we were leaving before hot breakfast was served. Lake is amazing. Saw deer, a porcupine, quail, bald eagles, loons, ducks, and geese with goslings in and around inn grounds. 10/10 would return.

SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES

I had booked two rooms at this inn for a stay in August 2022 through TripAdvisor (Expedia). I then received a message from the Inn stating that the rate quoted on both TripAdvisor and Expedia's website was incorrect, and was given the option to either cancel the reservation or pay a higher rate, which would have amounted to a little over $500 more than rate on the reservation. Expedia contacted the Inn and requested that they honor the original rate, and now I find out that the inn has canceled my reservation after falsely claiming that I had used an invalid credit card number. I will be taking the issue up with TripAdvisor and the BBB. Beware!

Never ever stop in Otter Creek Inn

We stayed here only for one night and I’m so happy that I didn’t reserve more nights here. First of all it’s really difficult to check in. I was lucky to met people who told me where the owner of this inn. She was chilling at her RV and was not really happy to see us. Then I saw our room. It’s not old, it’s very very old! Thin walls! I heard all my neighbors! Mattress is horrible and it’s just piece of trash, we didn’t sleep all night! Never ever stop in Otter Creek Inn!
