Loved the location it was windy the night we went with Bali family for a treat so the staff kindly set up a table inside for 7 and a baby we had booked by email but not had confirmation from them as we arrived at 6 eArly I think we were Lucky it did get busy they have a small play area for small children I would say up to 5 year old which was great the menu was small and I must say the food was a good price but I found a bit disappointing would say did not live up to great views

Sitting on the beachfront under an umbrella in a light sea breeze eating chicken spring rolls followed by New York Cheesecake. Delicious! Great service. Sang Nyoman Adi Guna gave us wonderful service. This isnt our first trip to Bali or this restaurant. Eaten at Resto Retro twice within last 3 days. First experience very positive and enjoyable meal. Entered restaurant at approx 9pm. Still plenty of diners but ample space.Ordered starters and mains. Every part of meal my wife and I had was well cooked and tasty. Pace of meal was suitable and service very attentive. Having had such a good experience my wife and I decided to return. How different this experience was to a few days earlier. We arrived at a similar time, possibly slightly earlier. The Restaurant was similarly populated with ample space. There appeared to be a slight delay in taking drinks order but nothing too significant. Once drinks ordered we placed our food orders. Starters and mains ordered, though different dishes to last time (mushroom soup Tom yam soup, beef lasagne and chicken Thai green curry. Few minutes passed and soups arrived. Whilst still eating soup mains arrived and waitress placed on table with comment how quick they had been as if this was some kind of achievement?Now with all food on table we set about moving onto main courses.Chicken Thai green curry was not as expected. It did not resemble a Thai curry. It was definitely green but that is where any comparisons end. The curry was very much a Chinese curry and not what was expected. Nonetheless it was quite edible though not as per description.My wifeâs lasagne on the other hand was extremely poor. The pasta layers were simply absent of beef or sauce, it was literally layer upon layer of undercooked pasta. Needless to say the Lasagne was not eaten. We had no intention to complain, simply wanted the bill and intended to depart. The uneaten food was noticed by the waiter who enquired how the food had been. Upon asking the poorly cooked pasta and absence of meat was shown to the member of staff.Wasnât looking for solution, more than happy to put down to experience but apple pie and ice cream was brought to table.Very difficult to recommend this restaurant on basis of recent meal. Had we only made the one visit I would whole heartily recommend. Personally I wouldnât take the risk. Too many other good restaurants in Sanur.Dear Customer, We do thank you for sharing your dining experience with us, and I was surprised about the situation you have been encountered during your last meal in our place. We do really apologize for what happened, we do always trying our best to give every single customer the best dining experience ever, but mistaken, human error that really canât avoided. This place is great a little family run Warung right on the beach. Pick your own seafood from the cabinet that has fresh fish,Squid,Prawns etc all on ice. This is cooked in front of you with garlic butter on a BBQ. The end result is amazing and the fish and seafood so tender and tasty. Definitely a great place to visit and we for sure will return.

Ok restaurant at the pantai Segara with live music (evening) and view of the ocean. The food choices are great but I miss the real authentic taste of Asian food, itâs more for the taste of foreigners. So Iâll think a normal warung is better. But for the view itâs great.

Stopped for lunch here because of the good menu. Turned out the menu is better than the food. Ordered a burger and it was a rissole "sausage meat" on a huge thick/high roll, a poor excuse for a chicken wrap and a chicken burger which just made it okay. The Aussie owner obviously had a reputation which has now slipped, he needs to redo quality.Dear CorneliusM, Over the weekend we've had over 200 patrons with the various sports telecasts being shown. Around 50% of those ate meals, all of them enjoyed the drinks menu and all of them enjoyed the hospitality. We're sorry you've not enjoyed the same experience everyone else has. To clarify, the burger pattie is made from pure Australian imported beef. The Tropical chicken wrap is a fab meal and the chicken burger a firm favourite with many. For reasons you've not really stated, these have not appealed to you. The Australan owner was available when you visited, perhaps you could have told him what the issue was and he could have fixed things for you. At the very least, given him the opportunity to answer your concerns personally. Although we have not yet stayed at the Tanjung Sari, we have visited for both lunch and dinner during previous holidays in Bali and were very impressed with both the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the excellent staff. For these reasons we decided to go back to the Tanjung Sari last week to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary as it is such a lovely venue for dinner outside in the evening.We arrived a bit early so had a wander up the beach path to look at the other hotels and restaurants before returning to the Tanjung Sari for our 6.30 booking. We were given a lovely table in the first row near the beach path which has great views of the beach and the visitors wandering up and down Sanur Beach. We were seated quickly, given menus and had our drinks orders taken by a charming young waiter who seemed to be our principal server during the course of the evening. The wait staff are all dressed in Balinese style clothing which is most attractive and gives the restaurant a bit more of an 'exotic' appeal.We chose to order some spring rolls to start with and then two of the daily specials rather than order Indonesian dishes which we normally do when eating out in Bali. The spring rolls were good but one order consists of only 3 fairly small spring rolls, so it was a bit of a minimalist started as we shared it. My partner's main course, the mahi-mahi was delicious but once again, a fairly small portion. I had ordered the baby back ribs which were good but not great. The pork was a bit tough and there seemed to be little or no sauce on the ribs so they really didn't have much taste. I think we should have stuck with our original idea of ordering local Balinese dishes which never disappoint.In spite of the rather lackluster food, we enjoyed the evening at the Tanjung Sari and would definitely come back again during a future stay in Bali. It has a wonderful location on the beach and it is very pleasant to spend part of an evening there as the sun goes down, enjoying a cold Bintang or a glass of wine and watching the world go past.My only real complaint is that the dining area is not a 'no-smoking' zone, and we had a couple sitting two tables away who smoked almost non-stop during our meal and the smoke inevitably drifted towards us. It is disappointing that the Indonesian government has not banned smoking in all restaurants, inside and out as the Philippine government has done here in Manila where we have lived and throughout the country. Second hand smoke is always unpleasant and can take away from the enjoyment of a meal in whatever restaurant or whatever country you are in.The staff at the Tanjung Sari are very friendly and very competent- they do their jobs well and obviously enjoy serving guests at the restaurant. In spite of the rather disappointing meal we chose, we would definitely return to the Tanjung Sari as it is such a lovely beachside restaurant on Sanur Beach.Hello James, many thanks for visiting us at Tandjung Sari, we're very happy you had a nice meal with us. They serve amazingly good food and a menu that makes this restaurant quite special compared to its neighbouring restaurants, especially when compared to next door, how we wish we returned for a second try. Yes a tad expensive, but totally worth every dollar, and you get what you pay for!

Lovely food, lovely smiley staff. Great to chat with the manager, Michael for ages about Bali it's history and temples and it's former president and his palace, and what we can only imagine are his spiritual guardians. Lovely food, live music though occasionally drowned out by hard rock from Linga Longa over the road...Very chilling and romantic, plus Joanne sneakily got to feed the very young kittens. Definitely recommend

Noisy on our visit but that is finals footy. Enjoyed pizza and bruschetta. You can sit inside in air conditioned or outside.
