Celebrated a friends get together and we all ordered 2 courses my husbands pork belly entree had no flavour. Then for main course my friend ordered the mushroom risotto which had no flavour and was very watery, we did complain and the rice dish was removed from the bill. The reason I am writing this review is both the waitress and the duty manager have had complaints about the risotto previously and the chef has done nothing about this, very sad. We would not return to this venue due to this experience

Budgeting has its limits. Rooms are old small and not that clean. TV not much bigger than a postage stamp. Had a pool but not that inviting. Kitchen has a lot of burners but ma n agers dogs running under your feet is off putting. Place is for sale but I don't think anyone would buy it. Pay a bit more and go somewhere else.

Such a hidden gem. This place was amazing. Rooms were spotless and so quiet. Well appointed and the nicest views. The lady who checked m in was so lovely and helpful. Very close to town but far enough out you can just enjoy the peace and quiet. Couldn’t recommend it enough

Mungumby Lodge is the perfect base to explore the base of Cape York. Offering complete privacy and home-style comforts this preserved private estate is a fine example to Eco-tourism. You'll enjoy total relaxation in harmony with one of the world's oldest living rain forests and some of Australia's most colorful Aboriginal history.
A beautiful place to stay, relaxing and tranquil. Isabella and Hamish were the perfect hosts. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great. Do yourself a favor and book yourself the perfect getaway.

Hillcrest Guest House is an original Queenslander built in 1880. The house has recently been renovated to create a cool, welcoming feel, with original polished timber floors and beautiful tropical gardens. All rooms upstairs are shared facilities, there is also a kitchen and laundry which guests are welcome to use. There is one self contained unit and three en-suite units - detached from the house. The swimming pool is 9 metres long and was the first swimming pool in Cooktown where the school children were taught to swim.
Wonderful guest house in historic Cooktown. Wonderful host Katrina who was available for any enquiry! The room was immaculate, and the bathrooms equally so. Truly lovely accomodation at great price point.

The views from Riva La Vista are superb - each room takes in the view and the outdoor lounge and kitchen provide plenty of space to take in the views of Cooktown bay as well. The hosts are very helpful and welcoming and know the area very well with lots of advice. The breakfast was great - all complimentary and the Webber BBQ mean we didn't need eat dinner out but just cooked there - as our views couldn't be beaten anyway. The sleep was comfortable with the A/C essential to keep the room cool in this hot tropical climate (we were there in January) I would thoroughly recommend this place for price and quality.
