Chatham Hotels | Places to Stay in Chatham

This pleasant, walkable town right at the elbow of Cape Cod is a classic New England vacation spot. Bringing kids? Check out calm beaches like Cockle Cove Beach and Harding’s Beach. If you’re looking for stunning scenery, however, try Chatham Lighthouse Beach. Its tides can be strong (heed the posted warnings), but it’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cape.

An inn that doesn’t disappoint

What do look for in an unforgettable getaway? ——- comfortable surroundings, friendly and caring hosts and staff, and a delicious breakfast. My expectations were far surpassed on all counts. Everyone went out of his way to accommodate me and make me feel pampered. When I booked my reservations, I had asked whether the advertised blueberry pancakes were still on the menu. They made a note of that and made sure I didn’t leave without making my wishes a reality. And the pancakes were scrumptious! An experience to remember.

Service Excellence

Reviewed By morgansG4962BS

My husband and I spent three days at the Chatham Inn and were blown away by the consistently top-shelf service from every staff member. They seemed naturally happy to be there, were interested in what/how we were doing, and made us feel welcome and pampered. The maître d Lynn brought me crackers when I returned from dinner with a queasy stomach and the sommelier/chief beverage manager Felix absolutely knew his stuff. Rob was fabulous as was everyone at the front desk and the restaurant. The food was incredibly prepared - creative, yummy, and filling. I appreciated the water program, the comfy bed, the departure goodie bag, and the chocolate turn-down service. We are grateful for the care and excellence in service at the Chatham Inn and highly recommend it!

This is our go-to place on the Cape

Reviewed By Alan B

We’ve been coming here for over 10 years and it’s the only place we’ll stay on the cape. The staff is so friendly and helpful and it’s one of the years we come here. We usually take an Cottage room, two bedrooms, this time an Upper Deluxe Two Bedroom Cottage. We came during the week, and it was quiet (early June). There was a very beautiful zen garden behind our cottage, and a grill (didn’t get to use it this time). The shower head is so special we bought one for home!

Captain's House Inn

A most distinctive Cape Cod bed and breakfast, the Captain's House Inn is regarded by many respected lodging reviewers as perhaps "The Cape's" finest small inn. This four-diamond sea captain's estate on two acres in Chatham, Massachusetts is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat from the workaday world. Adults only.

This hotel is overrated

Reviewed By stuartf537

We stayed in this hotel because it was so highly rated. It’s a pretty colonial house outside of Chatham. Our room was the garden room, a small room outside of the main house. For the price it’s is not unreasonable to expect some luxury and refinement , expect to be disappointed. The WiFi worked intermittently and was slow. The TV worked on one channel. This is a glorified guest house so there are no hotel services, at night a number is available to call assistance. On arriving the young manager explained that we should expect a great breakfast served in the conservatory, Again expect to be underwhelmed. The room is functional not stylish. The breakfast is served by untrained people from a menu that is less than special. On our last day it took an hour for breakfast to served and it was poorly cooked and presented. The staff seemed overwhelmed by five tables. Our bill for three days was nearly $1000. Allowing for this being an expensive part of the world this is poor value. The atmosphere is amateurish and more about charm than service and value for money. This place is overpriced and overrated.

Looks so much better in person. Spacious, clean rooms. Comfortable beds. We were lucky to be at the end of a hallway so it was very quiet. Spectacular location. Walk to all the shops and restaurants. You could walk to the beach but we drove. Quick drive to the Freedom Fairy to Nantucket. Will be back!

Perfect location but temper expectations

Reviewed By wesbex

If you are looking for a simple establishment as a home base for your walks to the beach and into Chatham, this quaint Motor Inn will work beautifully. However, we were disappointed in the rooms. First, the walls are paper thin, so we heard every word from the TV and phone calls and conversations in the rooms beside and above us. We were kept up several nights by those with later bedtimes than us and woke up when the first guests took their showers. Our toilet tank leaked into the bowl, so we had to turn off the water to it at night to fall asleep since housekeeping was unable to fix it. We were exhausted in the morning. Secondly, there are several easy things that could be done for better safety around the property such as hotel locks on the doors (they had a simple twist lock), locked doors to the hallways, pavers to the back stairs, etc. Other thoughtful things, such as an email confirmation the day before with front desk hours or a note that there are no closets or hairdryers, could have set our expectations better. What was helpful were signs such as ‘don’t run the AC at the same time as the hairdryer’. Other things, like paint splattered on the bathroom art, reminded us of our low budget choice. The linens and room were clean. The breakfast was advertised: coffee, store bought bagels and danishes, apples. We walked in to town and brought our own breakfast back to eat on their lovely porch. Their extras — beach supplies (wagons, umbrellas, chairs) and wine/cheese/fire pit — are adequate. As a last minute getaway, we are grateful for the central location Surfside offered. We definitely took advantage of its proximity to the beach and town. Set your expectations appropriately and this place should work out.

The best location, and view

Reviewed By abbeys517

I truly can’t say enough about how incredible this place is. I went on a solo trip so I was a little hesitant to stay in a “motel” but I never felt unsafe. One night I even accidentally slept with the key in the door. The bed was so comfortable and the kitchenette had everything I needed in it! When booking I was worried I’d only see the parking lot from my room but I could definitely see the water. I the staff was so kind and so were the other guests. The location can’t be beat. Quick walk to town. I will be coming back for sure!

Delightful host and accommodations, conveniently located near attractions and services. The lovely second story room under the eaves has plenty of natural light and is very comfortable and private. Best of all, our welcoming host met our schedule and our needs with efficiency and warmth. Definitely a place we would stay again.
