Kandy (Sinhalese: මහනුවර Mahanuwara, pronounced [mahanuʋərə]; Tamil: கண்டி, pronounced [ˈkaɳɖi]) is a major city in Sri Lanka located in the Central Province. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

Our driver recommended this place to grab some Indian, we were not expecting much but we were wrong.We had to go into a lift and up a couple of floors, the lift opens right into the restaurant which is actually quite posh for Sri Lankan standards. The food was actually decent, the waiters were friendly and worked really hard. We got there about 7pm and from then onwards it got really busy and they pretty much had a full house. I got their lamb curry which was good, while my wife got their mixed veg curry, also good. The food isnât wow, but itâs decent. Donât hesitate to visit this place, the chef may take some time to cook, but itâs worth the wait.

The Food Bowl is just a good place to have a no nonsense bite to eat, itâs simple set out with good seating from tables for two down one side and booth type seating for 4 down the other.Food covers Indian to Indonesian and a little western thrown in.We had Nasi Goreng and Fried Chicken Noodles, both where great and really fairly priced, I would happily eat there regular.The Lassiâs are good too
