Reviewed By jhonk718I was inspired by this place, the house is so amazing inside, and the backyard garden with barbecue was a lot of fun. The owner is a friendly guy, he offered me wine and meat from local farms. I spent 3 days in this house, I really liked it, and I will definitely come back here again. P.S. the nature is stunning.

La Torre del Vilar is a holiday cottage that works as a cosy and small hotel. It is the ideal base for touring and visiting Catalonia, conveniently located in the county of Osona, 6km away from the tourist town of Vic, 65 km drive north of Barcelona and an one day excursion from the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava. It is also ideal for relaxing among woods and fields in a wonderful landscape. It's a recommended holiday cottage by Toprural, Escapada rural and the main websites of rural tourism. Gastronomy, nature, quietness, mushrooms, walks, cycling, segway and horsing... All these ingredients and lots of paths around the house are waiting for you. Ideal for couples, families and friends.

Reviewed By Kristiina83We came here for a nice weekend away. The place definitely surved it’s purpose and was perfectly remote. We had a nice, large room with a bath. The room was quiet and we slept pretty well. There was no air conditioning but it didn’t matter that time of the year. They have a nice, big outdoor pool (seasonal). The restaurant was amazing, especially the paella was perfect! Would visit again anytime.

Reviewed By SuzanneandsamSuch a great hotel in the center of the old district of Vic. V convenient for going out in evening A really beautiful old building that has been converted very well. The room was lovely and big with a great bed. The courtyard room was quiet and guaranteed a good nights sleep Great rituals toiletries The breakfast was good - proper continental. A good amount of options and all fresh. Sadly on the last day a very ignorant English man threw a tantrum about having to serve yourself. He literally was like a toddler and totally out of order. The staff handled it very well and he really did behave outrageously.

Very clean, convenient to station
Reviewed By ytedBe aware there is a flight of 22+- steps to the rooms. Receptionist helped on the way down. No kettle/tea making facilities. Plastic cups only. Supermarket only 2oomtres away, close to restaurants for breakfast. On top of the station, but very quiet. I would stay here again.

Airy rooms, friendly people, good food
Reviewed By AnionfanHad a couple of nights here on business; room was spacious, as long as you like it open plan - no walls between the spa bath and the bed. Entrance porch is cold, though goes into a warm room, all open plan and tiled floors. Doors on to a small patio area, which one hopes the brickwork will be finished, and the pigeon poop washed away before spring. The curtains aren't up to much, they don't meet in the middle, or the edges, and there's a big security light outside, so if you like the dark, you'll need eyeshades. And pulling them away form the walls is going to expose some rather nasty damp patches. Big car park, just off the dual carriageway, didnt see the pool.

Reviewed By bam4dThe rooms are very nicely decorated with some quirky features and close to Igualada centre with parking on the street outside. We enjoyed lunch in the restaurant, the food was of good quality and value for money. The breakfast was excellent although it was a shame the staff did not offer us an omelette option.

Boutique Hotel 7 rooms, cozy and quiet. Restored with a very personal touch in each of the rooms. Modern, minimalist style with many details respecting the canons of comfort. Spacious common areas inside as well as large gardens and swimming pool. Cuisine and seasonal, prepared at the time. Old farmhouse from XIV in the heart of Catalunya, in a rural area that represents a living example of the history of this place and which now has the pleasure to stay. From here you can visit Barcelona, Sitges and the Golden Coast, the Monastery of Montserrat, vineyards and cellars around, the Castle Road and multiple active tourism. In Capellades Paper Museum and Abric Romani.

Hemos descubierto un tesoro!!!!La casa muy bien rehabilitada, no le falta detalle en ninguna de sus estancias ni en su jardín. El trato de Laura es excepcional, de gran amabilidad. Cabe decir que cenamos una noche y como el desayuno la comida es muy casera. Menta Rural nos vemos pronto! Repetiremos en otoño!!!

Very disappointed
Reviewed By Graham MI don’t often pick a hostal I don’t like but I got this one wrong !! The location isn’t bad. It’s near the citadel and an easy walk into the town centre - if you know where you’re going - I got really lost to the point I had to ask a policeman. The area is rather scruffy and it’s a bit scary walking through it at night. The receptionist was very helpful but is only there until early evening and not back until about 10.00 in the morning. The bar also isn’t open until around 10.00 in the morning so not much use if you want breakfast. There’s a nice little cafe at the top of the steps though. The hostal was more like an apartment building. You had to let yourself in by the street door, then into your floor area and then into your room. Mine was up two flights of stairs (no lift) and somewhat shabby. It looked out over the square and I suppose it had almost everything you might need apart two rather necessary things - a bedside light and, much more importantly, air conditioning ; my fault for not reading the description properly. The television and receiver box (perched precariously on top of the tiny television) were connected into a triple socket which hung down below the small rickety table on which the television sat. The plugs kept coming loose so, in the end, I gave up trying to watch it. On top of all that, the neighbours seemed incapable of having a quiet conversation outside so I had a most uncomfortable night. This one wasn’t for me

Reviewed By Nick SWonderful welcome. Lovely host couldn’t have been more helpful. We arrived late, He gave us food at midnight and was up early the next to give us a good breakfast. Clean and very comfortable nice balcony. Highly recommended!
