The all new Bellanca Hotel underwent a complete renovation in 2020. Located just footsteps from the water, the best of Catalina is just outside our door. Guest enjoy stylish accommodations, ocean views from some rooms and our exclusive roof top deck, use of bicycle and beach gear, and so much more!
Great location, but assumed much more for the high prices. More like a cheap beach motel. Adjacent restaurant/bar is convenient. Used to be called Portofino, but change in ownership has caused value to drop.

Originally opened in 1920, Hotel Atwater was the first hotel built by the Catalina Island Company under the ownership of William Wrigley Jr., who named the hotel after Helen Atwater Wrigley, wife of his son Philip Knight Wrigley. Today, the newly-renovated Hotel Atwater features a clean, elegant design that blends ocean-inspired finishes with hints of exotic Art Deco to create a relaxed ambiance that stays true to the hotel’s historic beginnings.
Everything was pristine, all very clean. The staff was cleaning non stop Every time we walked through. The lovely front desk personnel were accommodating and very fast and Patient, especially during a very busy weekend! And a very special shout out to Jason working at the cute bar cart in the lobby. Fun and humorous conversation from him, and the rest of the staff. Our Room was cozy, but Albeit small, but you really feel the history here, being such an old building. A beautiful lobby to relax after a day on the boat as well, great location, and will definitely be back soon this summer. Highly recommended, but go for the king size bed!

The Aurora Hotel, Avalon's newest boutique hotel, embraces guests with sleek style and modern sensibilities. The Aurora Hotel on Catalina Island features 15 rooms, two junior suites and a master suite. A roof-top deck with sweeping ocean views, a decadent spa room and a cosmopolitan lobby provide an array of public areas for relaxing and reconnecting. Guest rooms feature Tempurpedic mattresses, flat screen televisions and modern amenities. Our junior suites feature in-room jetted tubs and for the ultimate in luxury, our Aurora Suite features a fireplace, ocean-view six-head shower and a private sundeck.
Yes the rooms and bathrooms are small. Catalina's room inventory is not big and most of the rooms that are larger are priced accordingly. The room itself was efficiently designed with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, numerous electrical outlets, a small desk and very good lighting. We found the roof top ocean view deck to be a great mostly private place to enjoy the property. The several different people we interacted at the front desk during our stay were very friendly, well trained and knowledgeable about the island. Would absolutely stay there again.

Hotel Metropole is a charming, boutique hotel with a great location to shops, restaurants and the beach in Avalon. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi on the rooftop was underwhelming with non-working jets; so it’s a mini tub with hot water, but the view was great! We had a not-so smart TV that needed to be literally rigged in order to work. Finally, the sink remained backed-up with a very slow drain. The staff was friendly, not exceptional. The spa was very nice-we had a couple’s massage; however it is separate of the hotel. Overall, we were comfortable and enjoyed our short stay, but the hotel can definitely step-it-up for the price!!

The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Nice quiet place to stay. The staff was very attentive, accommodating and friendly. The hotel is just a half block from the waterfront and restaurants. I stayed in two different rooms over my three night stay and they were both great.

All rooms are non-smoking and offer air conditioning, wireless internet, cable TV/DVD, and hair dryers. Harbor view. Sure the room is small and older but very clean. Bed was excellent. At first thought the windows only opened a few inches, that was not good. Take a minute and unlatch them from the top and they open fully. Sure folks were making noise at 2 am on the sea walk but that’s to be expected. Nothing crazy but it’ll wake you up if you keep the windows open. Staff was nice enough to let us in early. Price a bit over 200 bucks but worth every penny for location. 10 bucks in vouchers for breakfast. Won’t cover it all but better than nothing.

Shuttle service was the best part of our experience with this hotel. The bedding was so filthy we told the front desk and they happily moved us to another room that wreaked of mildew. The bedding was just as filthy. The headboard corners were full of dust and hair. Some of the towels had mildew. No turn down service even after we were told that they would arrive shortly. Mold in the room and shower.

I wish I could give zero stars. This horrible place waited until we were in the middle of the ocean on the way to the island before they called to tell me that they had canceled our reservation and given our room to someone else. Apparently Booking.com had issues with my card and instead of calling me and giving me an opportunity to correct it, these incompetent morons canceled our reservation. They called me to deliver this news with zero empathy and a complete disregard for decency and ethic. This is a horrible business practice and they should be ashamed of themselves. I read in someone else's review that this happened to them as well and this unethical business turned around and rebooked the room for a substantial increase. Now it makes sense. I'll never EVER darken their doorway and I'll be certain to tell EVERYONE I know how absolutely and unimaginably their lack of decency ruined my mini vacation. F you very much Casa Mariquita Inn. I hope all the roaches in Catalina find their way to your door.

The ice machine on the 6th floor was broken so you had to go to 2nd floor. The view is great but that is all. It is overpriced room furniture is dilapidated . Tv worked off and on Very overpriced i

Catalina Island’s Glenmore Plaza Hotel is Catalina Island’s most established hotel. We are located on the beach in the heart of Avalon. While the hotel still retains its Victorian Charm, all of our suites and many of our rooms were recently renovated to provide our guest with the most modern comforts available.
This was our first time here and stayed on the recommendation of someone else. Our normal place to stay has been sold and is closed. The hotel is large, clean and has some really interesting woodwork as it is over 100 years old. Wainscoting in the halls, stairs, lobby etc. The stairway is wide with wood handrails. However, on our way down the stairs right at the lobby, it is dark and my husband missed the last step and luckily he caught himself before falling. The person on duty asked if he was okay, which he was. However, the next time we went to the room, they had put a bright orange rug in front of the stairs. It was easier to see. We were on the second floor and there is no elevator unless they are hiding it. The rooms on their website look beautiful. But that is not what we got. Our room was a good size, not too small. Queen bed, beat up dresser, newer TV and Dish cable, portable air conditioning, microwave, fridge, small table with two chairs, large closet, tub with shower and more. BUT there was hardly any decorating done to the room. It has wainscoting all around and nice crown moulding, but they forgot the personal touch. There were two or three pictures but that was it. The window coverings were wood blinds and only one of them worked because of the floor air-conditioning that had a large vent running to the window. The window obviously was always partially open. They only good thing is that we looked towards the back of the hotel. There no lights or noise to bother us. Had the room had some personal touches and get rid of the that air conditioning unit, we would think differently about the hotel. In addition, they are replacing the wood siding on the hotel and our room had a view of scaffolding. We come ofter to Avalon and will have to think hard if we want to try this place again.
