Half way between the two major gems of Southern Africa: the Okavango Delta and the Victoria Falls, nestled on the banks of the Kwando River (Eastern Caprivi), Camp Kwando invites you to come and explore the hidden treasures of an untamed land. Capture the spirit of the African bush while sipping sundowners from the beautiful overhead deck and enjoy the thrill of fishing and the hauntingly beautiful call of the African fish eagle. Activities include game drives, boat cruise and fishing tours, discovery of the local culture. Laze by the pool is also a must!
We booked the most expensive room/accommodation option. Unfortunately we were disappointed as the room was so dark and smelled strange, particularly from the toilet and animal skin rugs I think. There were nice touches in the room such as the decor but there was very little river view (despite being on the river) as the foliage had grown over it. The room didn't get much natural light or heat from the sun so was cold even in middle of the day. There are areas of the resort that need attention but overall it's a nice space. The food is nice in the restaurant but it felt like we were dining in a library as it was so quiet and lacked any atmosphere. Some African music in the background would improve this easily. For our stay we felt it was extremely over priced. Particularly as we had just come from Nunda River Lodge which was full of atmosphere, light, warmth, hugely welcoming and a half the price.

Encounter fine dining surrounded by elegant style and luxury. At only 1km away from the Popa falls you get a natural soundtrack of these rafts in the background.

We had a very good time staying for two nights. Very good location right at river and across national park. Great opportunities for river cruises and safaris. Very good food and very friendly hosts. Very enjoyable.

Nestled on the secluded Impalila Island in Namibia, Ichingo Chobe River Lodge is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife, birdlife and direct access to the Chobe River. Quieter, more secluded and personalised the lodge is ideal for families, couples or groups who wish to enjoy the very best of an African river safari and fishing experience. The accommodation consists of eight large air-conditioned Meru safari tents with en suite bathrooms and private balconies. The main lodge buildings include a relaxing lounge area, a welcoming bar, outdoor pool with a viewing deck with loungers overlooking the river, and a separate open-air dining room for all meals. Unwind and enjoy the sights, sounds and fun activities of a true river safari experience.
The lodge was good, but we had booked to leave Durban on a Monday. Just before 6 AM, shortly before we had to leave for the airport my wife received an email (not even a phone call) to say the flight was cancelled. We could easily have missed the email, & gone to the airport, & flown to Johannesburg to find our flight to Kasane was cancelled, & then found ourselves stuck in Johannesburg with nowhere to stay. We were advised by the consultant with whom we booked, Lynne van Wyk that we could travel the next day, & we would be refunded for the day that we had missed. What she did not tell us is that something like 4 of the preceding 5 Monday flights had been cancelled. If she had told us this, we would have left on a different day of the week. We have now been back over 6 weeks & still no refund. My wife & I, as well as the friends with whom we travelled have all contacted Lynne van Wyk who told us the refunds had been deposited into our accounts, but when we checked, there had been no refund. As much as the trip was good, it was not cheap, & it has been spoiled by this experience.

The most beautiful camping site along the banks of the Zambezi River. The campsites are shaded on lucious lawns & every site has a fixed BBQ. The sunset views are spectacular. Unfortunately the ablutions (although clean) did not have hot water in all the showers.

Nkasa Lupala tented lodge is built on the banks of one of the many channels of the Kwando-Linyanti river system. This unique Namibian wetland paradise in the eastern Caprivi region, is commonly known as Mamili and was recently renamed Nkasa Lupala National Park. The lodge and the Wuparo conservancy are part of the successful and award winning Namibian conservancy program.
We stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed our activities here. The standard is good, but limited to a level that corresponds to the location in this natural environment in the middle of the park. Here you have the feeling of being in the middle of Africa - animals can roam freely in the camp. The manager is very friendly and eats with his guests in the evening. Bush walks, game drives and boat cruises are offered depending on the season in this picturesque landscape. Many predatory cats can be found here.

Thank you for pleasant stays including gratis kayak trips on the Zambezi River. Maybe Keith is only this generous to whites. His racist views and moans to me about the “munts” are abhorrent and illegal.

A charming property with a lush garden located on the bank of the mighty Zambezi. 5 Rustic chalets and one tented room will entrance you and let you sleep peaceful and as close to nature, giving you an unequaled rest. For the more adventurous we have 2 campsites with communal ablutions with hot water. Power, water and a light are provided on the sites. Boat cruises and fishing trips are offered locally. For an ultimate experience though, nothing beats the safari boats cruising on the Zambezi and even down to the Chobe river for an amazing game-viewing experience. Day-trips to Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park can also be arranged.
We had booked one night as a stopover before crossing to Botswana. The staff is very frienly and the lounge area is very cosy and allowes you to chat, relax and to have a good time. The fish we had for dinner was amazing and room is functional. Unfortunately the mosquito net was quite worn out and greeted us with a cloud of bloodsuckers when going to bed. After a chemical warfare sleep quality was okay but an intact net would have made our stay a lot more comfortable.

As the evening sky turns into a red glow you sit back, high above the river, enjoying a chilled drink while listening to the deep grunt of hippos – this experience awaits you on the sundowner deck of Namushasha River Lodge on the Kwando River in eastern Caprivi. Situated 24 km south of Kongola, it is the perfect stop-over en route to the Victoria Falls. Apart from 24 rooms in chalets the lodge consists of a restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool. Watch elephant, hippo, buffalo or sable antelope on our excursions by boat or off-road vehicle, visit a traditional village in the vicinity or take time to observe the colourful birdlife (more than 400 species).A camping site for 16 tents pitched on lawn is also available at Namushasha.
We stayed in the Camping to Go facilities, everything there that is needed to self cater. As there was only 1 night available, we joined the lodge for dinner, which was lovely. Sittting on the terrace, seeing the sun go down over the water and hearing the birds, paired with delish food and great service. you cannot ask for more. We did a game drive before dinner and were absolutely in awe. The guide had given us so much information, we learned a lot on this tour and saw elephants bathing at the Horseshoe etc. It is advisable to do a game drive here, as the parks roads are not well marked and one can easily get lost. The game drive includes a 8 minute drive on the river in a boat, featuring Crocs and Hippos. This makes the game drive even more interesting.
