We have enjoyed our stay at C'est Si Bon Hotel. The children had a lot of fun in the pool and there is a little playground as well. Food portions are huge and the food is tasty. If we need to stay in Otjiwarongo again, we will definitely choose this place again.

Today you are invited to enjoy the tranquility of Midgard. Midgard Country Estate offers 46 fully equipped rooms, Carl’s Dining Room & Bar, two swimming pools, a gym and sauna as well as Namibia’s one and only private skittle alley (Kegelbahn). Choose between one of our 35 Standard Rooms, 5 Family Rooms or 5 Luxury Rooms with views overlooking the swimming pools, gardens, courtyard or mountains. Our self-catering units at the trains offer an alternative for all guests who prefer a true “camping experience” at highly affordable rates. The estate is spaciously situated in a sprawling country garden, bordering the Swakop River Valley. At Midgard we invite you to relax and have fun; feel free to soak up the ambiance and simply unwind; or explore the outdoors on our hiking and mountain trails, play bowling, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, pool or outdoor chess or view our vintage car collection. One of the estate’s major attractions is a Hilltop Sundowner Drive, where you can enjoy a stunning 360° view over the Otjihavera Mountains with a refreshing sundowner in hand. We also offer morning or afternoon Game Drives through the separate 2 000 hectare nature reserve, along the Swakop River. Our game park is home to giraffes, blue and black wildebeests, oryx, kudus, hartebeests, eland, smaller antelope species, warthogs and baboons. If luck is on your side, even brown hyena and leopards can be spotted.

Perfect place to stop over on the way from Windhoek to Etosha. Very clean and well appointed room with an extraordinarily comfortable bed! Our hosts were most kind and helpful and even supplied me with a paper clip, so I could change my SIM card. Breakfast was a bit of a surprise, being in a box! A first for us, but this was really handy as we could get on our way smartly. All in all, a good stopover, I just wish we had more time to chat with the owners.

Home from home

Rarely have I stayed somewhere where I instantly felt so at home. Herman, our host, had a lot to do with that. So genial and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and full of character. The garden is a lush little oasis. Dinner was delicious. Simple, local, fresh ingredients put together with care and skill to create something quite special. Breakfast was equally good. As well as being a wonderful host, Herman is such an interesting and accomplished person. Very interesting to spend an evening chatting to him. His enthusiasm for life is quite infectious. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I ever happen to be in the area. In fact, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Not a Honeymoon Stay

When I arrived at Reception I greeted the lady behind the counter. Without greeting back her first word was "Payment", I said sorry, and she repeated "Payment".Receiving of Guests needs to improve as it is currently atrocious. The rooms are Cold! The duvet on the bed is a very thin blanket. The shower head was broken. I cannot recommend to anyone to stay there. I certainly will never set my foot there again. Towels are also paper thin.

Superior host and lovely rooms - great stopover on way to north or south

Reviewed By Silke H

We stayed here twice, both en route to Caprivi and back. The price you pay for what you get is fantastic. We stayed on B&B basis in the cottages as family of 4. Spacious, with everything you need to self cater, these cottages are a great stop over. We also attended the wine tasting, met some lovely people and got a dreamy delish snack platter. Even our kids loved it all. Highly recommended whether you self cater, or camp, this place is worth every cent. The hosts are warm friendly people that make you want to stay here again.
