Cape Motel

Great value for a fun stay.

I love this motel only a short drive from downtown Cape Charles, VA. Its kitschy exterior is fun. And the recently remodeled rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay unlike some other value priced motels. Loved the flat screen tv, ceiling fan, vinyl plank flooring, and the sliding barn door into the bathroom. Although we didn't use the outdoor pool on our stay, it looked very nice. I would definitely stay here again for longer than one night next time.

Small Town Charm with Personal Service

We chose to spend our 38th anniversary in Cape Charles and came back to the Hotel Cape Charles based on previous experience. We confirmed that it was the right choice. The hotel lobby is colorful and bright. Our host Jawn greeted us warmly and presented us with a complimentary bottle of wine to help celebrate our big day. We asked questions about the local businesses since we had not been there in 2 years due to Covid. It seems Cape Charles was back in business- even better with a distillery right across the street. Our room was huge and well appointed with modern appliances and fixtures. The TV was a little small but the controls were easy to navigate. The glassed-in balcony provided a fantastic view of the main street and all the activity. We really appreciated the space and the view. The King bed and pillows were very comfortable. We rented a hotel-provided golf cart and in the afternoon we drove to the brewing company near the "lighthouse" water tower and our dinner spot across the bridge. In the morning we drove to the beach and then around Cape Charles. The golf-cart adoption by Cape Charles' leaders is brilliant because it is so much fun. We could have had a free breakfast at the cafe that is adjacent to the Hotel but we opted for bagel sandwiches. They were perfect. Every time we came and went we were greeted by staff in a friendly manor. There are tables in the courtyard, available bicycles and a very positive vibe overall. We highly recommend Hotel Cape Charles.

Moldy Damp & Dirty

Reviewed By emlinfitz

I will never go back or advise anyone to go. My husband and I look forward for the few days away to celebrate our anniversary. We were so disappointed and disgusted with the Mold in the bathroom, it could've been easily reached by hand and clean by house keeping. The moisture in the room had everything wet even the bed and the mold was sliding down the bathroom walls. We tried opening the front door to let some fresh air in but we were bombarded with flies. Go anywhere else. Do not go here

Good Place to Stay

Reviewed By JoyfulWriter

This is a two-story motel/hotel in the middle of farmland. It is set slightly off the road and we didn't have any problem with road noise at all. I thought it was cool to be surrounded by fields of green soybeans - beautiful! The location is near the turn-off for downtown Cape Charles. Our room was quite spacious and a small kitchen was a big plus. I could boil water for hot tea and have cereal from real bowls. One tip is to wash your dishes and utensils before using them, because you can't be sure about how well previous guests may have washed the items. But, that's a small matter and I did appreciate having the dishes and appliances at hand. The bed was fine and we had everything we needed for a night's - or even several night's stay. I like that the cars are parked away from the rooms (divided by a front porch and line of shrubs), yet near enough to easily get to them. I would stay here again.
