Was pleasantly surprised by the value for money of this restaurant. Two of us ate here for under CHF 60 which is unusal for Switzerland! I had a vegetarian pizza which was very tasty and the base was thin and crispy and not soggy. Additionally, they were very accomodating with my dietary requirements. My husband had a pleasant surprise when he found 4 Indian set menus to choose from as well as the Italian options. So he went for the chicken curry menu which came with rice, raita, poppadum, pickle and some lentils, and he ordered a naan on the side too. We had two bottles of sparkling water as well. The Indian food was a little bland but that's not surprising when comparing to other Indian restaurants in the locality (the spice seems to be toned down for the local palate). The restaurant was clean and my husband went to wash his hands after eating and said the men's toilets were very clean too. The only slight criticism was that service was very slow as they had just one waiter for the first part of the evening (he was joined later by another) but more walk-ins than they would usually expect. It didn't bother us because we weren't in a hurry, but if you were, it may have been slightly annoying. However, we would definitely still go back there again. A nice little neighbourhood restaurant.

The title of this review is not an exaggeration. We have lived here for two years and eaten in 40+ restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and have eaten at Kesar about five times. Obviously, it's hard to compare different cuisines, but Kesar (and sister restaurant Okra) never disappoint. This is Indian cuisine at its very best. Service is good as well. Authentic. Friendly. We had dinner here and were watching one of the football games from the European Championship. The food is good and service is friendly. I had the mixed Pakoras as a starter. They came with a bit of green salad with an interesting mango dressing. Yum! The Pakoras were excellent. They were a bit tight on the Raita serving though.For the main course I chose the Shahi Chicken Korma. This was very tasty too.Will come back to this place. By far the best Indian restaurant in town. Two sister restaurants exist, Okra and Kesar. Have tried Kesar too, same standard, slightly fancier - more modern inside, less easy to access. As a person with South Asian roots, can attest to the authenticity of all meals served here, after repeated visits. Certainly, some dishes are "toned down" to suit local taste, but never unrecognizably so. The terrasse at Tulsi makes it the preferred option. Reservations are definitely required, and may have to be re-confirmed (the occasional mix-up has happened, but nothing of consequence). Food and service are faultless and this place is unreservedly recommended. Be advised however, that prices are in the higher tier. That being said, this is quality that one is prepared to pay for (although perhaps not without limits).Herzlichen Dank für Ihr Feedback. Authentic Indian food, good portions, delicately flavoured leaving you clamouring for more! The service was exceptional and although the waiter, Anish, was all by himself to take orders, set the tables, serve, clean and attend to the till- he maintained his cool, made light banter with his guests and never revealed how rushed he was. He truly is an asset to the place! The place was also clean and well maintained. If I want to be very critical, the only thing I can say is that the Medhu VadaWe ordered as starters were too small for the price charged- I know they are starters but at least they need to be a standard size!
