We were in the area as supporters for two runners in the ultra trail runs...The places along the Dorfstrasse tend to be Brasserie style. But the Belvedere provided all one could expect of a high class Restaurant without being in anyway more expensive. We booked and our name was remembered..a table on the balcony..clean tablecloths, rolls,water..attentive service...good to see student waiting staff.The trout was well presented, sophisticated in taste and generous. The same applied to the Sorbets...a marked contrast to one of the « Brasseries ».So a hidden gem. Has it to do with fact it is proudly run the third generation of a family and not by a chain?Dear Restaurant guests,there were many runners in our hotel and also many supporters. Already a week before, several runners were staying for their training. Many thanks for having visited our restaurant. We are very happy to read, that you enjoyed the service and the food. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the terrace soaking in the Alpine view and crisp clean air. Our party ordered potato soup, mixed green salad and the Alpine Mac and cheese and were pleased with all. The waitress was especially helpful and friendly. The train was an easy off and back on. This is a great alternative to the crowds in neighboring villages.

We ate at the "Pasta and More" restaurant that is attached to the Victoria Hotel and it was our best and most reasonable meal. The service was excellent and the food was lovely.

Great restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating, Outdoor on a covered porch-like area. Interior had a great swiss chalet theme going. As the title says, really great rosti, but the brats served with it were not close to the best of the trip, and I had plenty of both. Fondue seems to be popular here, and the smell dominates the interior. Our waiter provided first rate, professional service and was part of what made this a very good place for dinner.

Most of the restaurants in Wengen are hotel restaurants and, as non-guests, we like to look for restaurants that don't look too much like hotel restaurants, if you see what I mean. The Silberhorn restaurant is nicely set out, the service is good and the food is traditional fresh Swiss fare, which usually involves cheese and potatoes in various combinations. It also has an attractive roof terrace with views across the valley. We spent 3 weeks in France, Italy and Switzerland. Of those, our expectations for food were relatively low (although the views are the best) in Switzerland. However, we found Restaurant Caprice was very good and the view spectacular. It's not overly fancy by any means, but it's also not super heavy and overly sauced up either (which is a good thing). Frankly, between our experiences in Lucerne and the Jungfrau region - it was the best dinner we had. We would most definitely return.

This restaurant is a must do but in season you need to book. The food was really good and the service the most friendly we experienced in the valley. A couple of places charge for tap water even if you drink other drinks but this restaurant sensibly states if you order drinks tap water is free. Such a simple thing.

Were here for lunch on a Friday. The food was traditional Swiss style... We had Bratwurst with Rösti, which were tasty. Also the mixed salad was fresh and nice. We sat on the terrace, which was ok, but nothing really special... The guy taking orders tried his best, but he had far too many tables and guests to take care of, meaning long waiting times, even to get the drinks...

Tonight we selected Restaurant Baren for our dinner and we were extremely pleased. The wait staff was super pleasant and answered all if questions.since we are both vegetarians they suggested a salad, a spatzel with vegetables and chestnuts and a mushroom sauce, and a special curry falafel dish which we loved. We shared all of our selections and added a glass of white Swiss wine for each of us. We thought that our meal, the ambiance and the staff was one the best that we had experienced in Switzerland and may return for a second go around tomorrow evening.
