An extraordinary place to stay in Camden!

Reviewed By SusuK

Don't miss the chance to stay in this beautifully restored 19th century inn located in one of Camden's most historic neighborhoods. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and well equipped, luxurious with its upscale linens and personal amenities. Also, we enjoyed all of the personal touches such as huge homemade cookies and free snacks and beverages available at all times in the common area. Janet and Steve have gone to great lengths to make the Four Oaks Inn comfortable and charming, and the bountiful gourmet breakfast they serve is a feast, beautifully prepared and presented. The owners couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating and even loaned us folding chairs to use at the horse show we attended. We will look forward to staying here whenever we are in Camden again!

Dirty, icky feeling

Reviewed By Sade865

The stay last year was good. This year, the room was dirty feeling. Table dirty, microwave dirty, sheets seemed dirty. The tub was saggy on the bottom. Bulb out in bathroom, we had to replace it ourselves after getting one from front desk. Door knob battery was dead when we got there, but that does happen sometimes. But everything all at once is a little much.

Terrible Experience

Reviewed By larissaw903

This by far was the worst experience I have ever had staying at a Holiday Inn. It started off bad when I arrived. I proceeded to check in Friday, May 6th. When I arrived I found out that both my rooms were canceled due to the credit card. Apparently they charge the card 24hrs in advance and if it doesn’t go through then they cancel it. I did not receive an email saying anything about my card declining. I always keep that card on my account and then charge a different one once I get checked in. If I would have know that they were going to cancel my room the I would have given them the correct card instead of driving almost 3hrs with 3 kids to only find out my rooms were canceled. I ended up getting one of the rooms back however my 2 12 year olds had to sleep on the floor. So Sunday we left the hotel before 9:00am which was May 8th. I look at my account Sunday evening and see two pending charges, one for $150 and the other for $100. So i work in a Holiday Inn myself so I do know that they have pending charges that fall off. I wasn’t worried about it. Well, was I wrong. I called the hotel this morning May 10th and they told me it was a smoking fee. I spoke with the manager. I believe her name was Carmen. She said there had been smoking inside the room. I tried to explain to her that nobody smoked in the room and she said yes they did you could smell it in the elevator. I tried to explain to her that my oldest son is severely asthmatic and we wouldn’t even do that to him. She said she didn’t care and tried to argue with me. I explained to her that I wasn’t trying to argue I just needed her to hear me out. She didn’t and she hung up on me. I’m really upset because no one smoked in the room and it’s not fair that she can just throw this smoking fee on my card and we didn’t smoke in the room. I have called corporate and filed a complaint with them and I will also dispute the charge with my bank. I need to also mention that the hotel had a very strong mildew smell so I’m not sure how anyone could smell anything outside of that. It still doesn’t change the fact that no one smoked inside of that room.

Ok but musty smell

Reviewed By 867MarkS

Fast and easy check in. Room and beds were clean but there was a definite musty smell. Can’t comment on breakfast or other amenities as I didn’t make use of. Room was conveniently located on first floor but quiet. Ok but with my allergies not sure I would stay again.

Quick Stop in Camden

Reviewed By Audr112

We found this hotel in Camden through Hotels.com. When we arrived the booking had not been received, but the receptionist was very helpful in sorting it out. The room was fresh and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom very adequate. In all the hotel was far better than anticipated.
