This pizza shop is primarily take-out with a somewhat grungy in store appearance in the back corner of a local shopping mall in Poway. We live about 2 miles north of the shop and find it one of our favorite local pickup shops for quick eats. Generally, you can find coupons in the local papers to differ some of the cost, but it is fairly priced and usually about $18 for a "large" (very large) pizza, which we normally have ample left overs for lunch the next day. As per the taste of the nominal sausage and pepperoni pizza we order (sometimes with 1/4 vegetarian), I find the taste quite good. It generally comes with the oozing pizza grease that provides the great taste I expect of a meat and cheese combination that is cooked in a manner very similar to the best spaghetti sauces. I am fortunate to have married an Italian from south Philly, who has refined my taste for Italian food to an art form. Therefore, I can say with some confidence that if you are really an Italian food lover you should find this shops pizza to your liking of both your taste and pocket book (considering the leftovers for lunch the next day).

We ate dinner here on 12/25. We had reservations for 5 people at 1815 but due to an early arriving flight, we were a little early, but were still seated about 1800. Service was a little spotty, but I attribute that to the amount of patrons inside the restaurant. If you did not have reservations, the wait was about 1 hour and 45 minutes. For dinner we ordered: bruschetta appetizer, large entree of prosciutto stuffed chicken that served 4 of us, a childâs fettuccine alfredo, 1 maschio prosecco and for dessert a colossal brownie sundae. This restaurant tries hard and has some nice touches-magnifying glasses and reading glasses at the front for people needing visual assistance...I needed some good food which was non existent!The caprese appetizer was so-so, the chicken entree was so chewy I couldnât eat it. The server was trying but cannot overcome the food. The presentation was ok, but the taste and quaility below par.

What a pleasant, delicious surprise Bongiorno's pepperoni pizza was! We thought it was just delicious, reminding us of the days we lived in New York. We had the 18 inch pie, which was more than enough for two ( we took some home), and easily enough for three and maybe even four if you limit yourself to two big slices each. We can't wait to go back! They do have a full menu, but the pizza is what we craved and preordered, so we didn't have to wait once we sat down.We really liked it.

Having dinner with a teenage grandchild is always a treat. The draw back at the Villa Capri is the tables are very close together and the noise level makes it more difficult for conversation. The service was good except he neglected to ask for a drink order. They do have outside seating but again noisy. The food is good. They usually serve pasta with a white sauce or a pink sauce. I have been here many times and this was the first I have had a cold red sauce served with the bread. It was delicious and I asked to have some with my pasta served warm which was great. The lobster ravioli served with pink was also enjoyed. The waiter chose the Cabernet wine and it was excellent. Pasta dishes are nearly $20 and up.Bread pudding a family favorite.
