Oo-kook Korean BBQ

Only order the marinated bulgogi or the kalbi; everything else is flavorless. The flame on our grill went out three times. Poor ventilation in the restaurant, very smoky. Servers were inattentive and did not help cook the meat, as waiters in most Korean barbecue restaurants do.

This Ktown popular spot finally opened up in the San Gabriel Valley. Lately, theres been many Kbbq shops in Ktown opening in the SGV and many of them in the SGV are knock offs, but this one is the same. We got there at 4:30p on a Friday night and this place was packed. It was a 1.5 hr wait. This place is not AYCE and ordered a combo enough for 5 people. The meat is the freshest I've ever eaten. They include a pork soup as well as the traditional side dishes. They do most of the cooking for you so you don't have to worry. However, I do feel a little rushed. They try to get in and out as soon as possible. Normally at an AYCE place, we're there for about 90 min and here from the time we sat down to when we were done was about 40 min. Plenty of parking, theres actually an underground lot.

Grand opening... 12% discount!!! Very hip decoration, cartoon drawing on the wall. Lots of young generation coming here. The price is very reasonable and affordable. This place is consider Korean fast food restaurant. Not the typical Korean BBQ place. The Service: Okay. Came to take the order, served the food & gave us the check. They put a jar of water on each table; therefore, server didn't have to come to our table to refill our water and checked on us. The Food:Spicy Pork Ramen: Korean ramen noodle is just like their instant/cup noodle. I like the texture of the noodle, a little bit chewy and tougher. Korean ramen broth can be spicy~ Perfect for cold raining day!!Kimchi Fried Rice: LOVE this dish. They stir-fried the rice with kimchi, ham, dry seaweed and other spices. The bonus - sunny side-up egg on top of the fried rice!!! I like the texture of the rice, sticky & a little bit hard. The Parking: Plaza parking lot (free)

The restaurant claimed to be one of the Young-Dong chain. Unfortunately this is one of the worst among all of them. First, they have the least choices. No yellow croaker, no mackerel, no beef stew or genshen chicken soup. The free stuff came with one thinnest possible pancake and non-appetite-intriguing appetizers. Cold noodle and bbq short rib were okay. Octopus rice pot were horrifying. Octopus were not fresh at all.
