Great spot for lunch. I always order online and it's ready to pick up by the time I get there. I highly recommend their wraps and the paninis.
If a quick, good lunch is what you want, search no more! This place runs on all 8 cylinders with a huge crew crammed into a small building, working harmoniously cheek to jowl. Despite the speed, volume, and stress, everyone handles it with a smile! You may walk in think "oh boy, this is gonna be a while", but you'll be amazed how quick they get your order - make your sandwich, and get you on your way. To help you first timers, here is the routine: order on the right side of the counter, they have a menu sheet and a daily special board, step back, wait till they call your name, and pay on the left side. Chips, drinks are on the left, and grab them before you pay. The tri tip sandwich is a favorite, but they are all good. They also have salads, and I believe soup. Whatever you get will be tasty, freshly made, the way you want. Sure, you can get a sandwich at a commercial food chain, buy why put up with indifferent servers, Soviet Union-like portion control, and inefficient lines when you can get a real sandwich made by people who like what they are doing, who prove it one sandwich at a time?

Stopped by Erik's DeliCafe in Salinas, CA and ordered a turkey and swiss on wheat bread with tomatoes, sprouts, red bell peppers, and Erik's "Special Goo." Also bought a side of macaroni salad. Everything was fresh and plentiful. Total tab: less than $10. It was WELL WORTH every penny. Found out there are Erik's in several cities. I'll be keeping an eye out for them in my future travels.
