Looking at the menu we could tell the Dipsea specialized in Greek food and we pretty much went all in. The Gyros, Meze Plate (spanakopita, dolmades, falafel, pita, Greek salad, pepperoncinis, tzatziki and skordalia), and Souvlaki Special were all really, really good. My son's Fish and Chips was also quite tasty - he loved it though I felt it was not quite in the same league as our Greek feast. And the portion sizes were *huge* - we were famished after hiking the serendipitously named Dipsea Trail and only my son succeeded in finishing off his meal.As for drinks, my Arnold Palmer was delicious (our waitress even asked how sweet I wanted it mixed) but it couldn't hold a candle to the milk shakes and smoothies. The rest of my family deservedly adored their Oreo shake, Vanilla shake, and Strawberry Colada smoothie. The service was exceptional (thank you Debbie) and the decor a kind of quaint country kitchen meets the sea.

Outdoor seating under a protected cover. Attentive service. Simple Heuvos Rancheros was beautifully prepared, over-easy, served on a slight, light tortilla was perfectly presented with a small lettuce salad.($14.00). Latte, ($4.00). California omelet, ($14.00) cooked softly, French style with bits of bacon. Nice place for breakfast. Parking, conveniently, steps away.

Okay....salads are great too...and the beet hummus really delicious as well. Breads are amazing as are the muffins and scones. Hard to choose! You really can’t go wrong. Love sitting outside where it is quieter than inside. Very friendly staff and excellent cooks and bakers!

I’ve been here twice during my stay and both times it’s busy, and I can see why. It’s easily the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Staff is friendly. Coffee is good. Food is FRESH. I recommend the boosted grilled cheese - I got it no bread and they didn’t bat an eye at this weird request, but you end up with a beautiful egg/avocado/cheese/tomato/millionaire bacon mix with a great salad. Hash browns should be ordered on the side! There is nothing bad to say. I’d eat here every day if I could, I want to try everything on their unique menu. Wish I lived closer!!That's very kind of you to say, J.D. We appreciate your two visits and are happy to know you've enjoyed your meals. We'd love to see you back every day...but next time you visit is ok too!

Everyone raves about the Chinese Chicken Salad for good reason, it is the best. I recently stopped by for one of their take-out cartons stocked in the fridge and they only had the large size available (and it is large!) However, they were happy to make up a small size for me (still an ample portion) which I happily ate for dinner. The next day I was back to try the Greek salad and some roasted vegetables. All delicious. A San Anselmo treasure for sure.

We go to Theresa and Johnny's every Sunday morning without fail. It never disappoints. Although we have our favorites from the many omelet, pancake, and waffle options we sometimes spring for a special featuring the freshest seasonal fruit. Service is great. Atmosphere very homey. Lots of regulars are there week after week but there is always room for more folks.

Half Day Cafe

This was always our go to family, fun breakfast spot...for a birthday, a visit, a leisurely great morning meal with 3 generations. We were reluctant to return after the new ownership but...we also longed for a return. So...our verdict from our return...the menu is exactly the same...down to the weekend brunch specials. Clearly, they are trying....sadly, the food is just not the same. Portions a tad smaller...even the giant latte is less giant! The scones and biscuits are okay but no longer fantastic. Same with the egg dishes. Wait staff is fine, atmosphere the same...lots of adorable, happy toddlers/babies/ kids. Would I rush to go back? Frankly, no. But, I will...a great space, indoors and out. Good enough food...just not sublime.
