The smaller city of Belvedere (formerly a separate island) occupies the south-west part of the peninsula and is contiguous with Tiburon. Tiburon is bordered by Corte Madera to the north and Mill Valley to the west, but is otherwise mostly surrounded by the Bay. Besides Belvedere and Tiburon, much of the peninsula is unincorporated, including portions of the north side and the communities of Strawberry and Paradise Cay.

We arrived just after opening evening hours on a weekday. We did take-out of a few select sushi items. The miso soup was traditional, hot, and nutritious. The age-dashi tofu was typically bland, but with a good dipping-sauce. The dynamite roll was solid value, hearty (as sushi goes) and very flavorful. The dragon roll was good too. The Monster roll was a little unusual, being wrapped with seaweed salad - a milder flavor overall.This restaurant is at the north end of the off-Bridgeway "restaurant street" (Caledonia), opposite the Library. It makes an alternative for those who foolishly try to get into the much more famous Sushi Ran (just down the street) without reservations. Good solid sushi here, a cheaper alternative to Sushi Ran, well-known to locals. No steps. Limited street parking. Brief walk from ferry dock. Typical sushi-restaurant interior, and very clean.

Appears to be family owned and operated, and they were able to accommodate vegetarians despite smaller than usual Thai menu. Portion sizes were large. The curried fried rice was excellent. Service was good, everyone was very friendly. The vegetables in the dishes were fresh and plentiful. Not the cleanest which is why I gave it a 4 and not a 5.

We were so excited to stumble across this hidden restaurant while walking around the area. After reading the reviews that raved about this place we were all so excited. We ordered the chicken samosas, the egg rolls, and the vegetable spring rolls as appetizers. The food came out very quickly and looked very appetizing. The chicken samosas had no chicken in them; so we were very disappointed to try this. The rest of the appetizers were okay but nothing to write home about. For our main meal we ordered beef basil fried rice, and two vegetarian pad thais. The pad thai was not for consumption. All you could taste was fish sauce and no peanuts. We were so disappointed the waitress brought us out another order. The second order was also a gluttonous mess of pasta. The beef basil fried rice had no flavor. We were all so disappointed. The waitress took off one of the orders of pad thai, but it was not worth all the hype and the prices. There are plenty of places closer to the harbor front where the atmosphere and food is much better.

If you want Thai food without the crazy looks of bad trappings this is refreshing. I love that they stay true to authentic tastes in their recipes. And I know. Its important. I love the simple like Fried rice with pineapple to Prik King.

We were staying in San Rafael and discovered Taste of the Himalayas on Groupon. Nestled along a scenic street sits this cozy restaurant. It's a charming place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. When ordering, the waitress asked how spicy we wanted our dishes to be. To be honest, "spicy" in some restaurants do not live up to the expected heat but this place sure did! Not only was the heat to my liking, but the flavors were phenomenal. We pretty much licked our plates clean. It was kind of pricey for lunch even with a Groupon though.

One of the best Chinese restaurant in California. Food was very healthy which is not your typical Chinese cooking. No msg and less oil. But still comes with the same good taste. Had the Mongolian beef and tamarind duck which were both excellent. Also had the bbq lettuce wrap which was great. Other dishes include hot and sour soup and seafood combination. Service was also very attentive and quick. Overall was simply excellent. Would recommend it to everyone. Price was slightly more expensive than your standard Chinese restaurant but it was well worth while.

We has edemame, goyza and ahge tofu as the appetizers with miso soup. Everything was tasty and served quickly. As the main we all had sushi which was fresh. The prices are very good as well.

Ming's new ownership started at the end of February. Since then, the food is inconsistent in portions and ingredients, greasy, salty, and either not fresh or overcooked. I have been a resident of Tiburon for many years and the many owners have been good and bad. It is now the worst it has ever been. Check the dates of the good reviews, they may be before the new ownership. The group before was superior and now, sadly, they are gone. As for the service...it is cold...no feeling of wanting to please the customer or become long-term friends. Also, the tables and chairs are often not clean. Avoid this restaurant! There is a superior Chinese restaurant near the ferry with great food, service, views, and validated parking!

I'll throw my hat in the ring. We've two downtown chinese spots, whose ownerships have been bought and sold multiple times in the last couple years. In fact, other than New Morning and Salt and Pepper, almost everything is constantly under new ownership... Waypoint pizza, the Candy Shop, Sam's, Caprice. It's all sort of exhausting. But as many negative reviews I've read for this spot in regards to bungled communication, or normal operational problems...This food is fantastic. The chicken seems *really* fresh, and is quite delicious in any dish. The vegetables are really fresh, and all the dishes, whether rice, noodles, soups, or appetizers, have been fantastic. We order deliver once in awhile, and never eat at the restaurant. But I am really happy with this spot, and whomever the new owners are (as of at least 5 or 6 months ago, I assume). Fantastic stuff!

This place is off the tourist main line, so you just see locals here. It's a small comfortable place with very friendly staff. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant, which is helpful because there is very little parking on the street in front of the restaurant. The sushi is excellent. I particularly liked a mushroom dish that I had never had before. The sashimi, the sushi rolls and the associated goodies were all first rate. That said, they're not giving it away. Dinner for 6 was about $600.
