Rich in medieval architecture, the northern city of Burgos provides a glimpse into bygone Spain. But the historic capital of Castile looks to the future, too, with its modern museums, celebrated culinary scene, and award-winning infrastructure.

Fabulous hotel in a beautiful city

The location of this hotel could not be better with views of the beautiful cathedral and within walking distance to many other attractions that Burgos holds. The food at breakfast and in the evening was wonderful. We travel through Spain several times a year and this is our preferred hotel.

Restaurant is a gem

Reviewed By sudesnah

We stopped overnight on our way to catch the ferry at Santander from our home in Spain. Since our previous visit prior to the pandemic, they seem to have updated their rooms. The hotel’s location is not far from motorway junctions but it is situated in the middle of an industrial estate. Don’t let that put you off. Has a large car park with CCTV cameras, and our rooms both times overlooked it, so could see our car. The rooms are basic, functional and comfortable. The hotel’s secret weapon, and the reason why we chose it again is it’s A la Carte restaurant. It is set up to a high standard and the gentleman serving us was knowledgeable and attentive. We chose their tasting menu which came with a lovely bottle of wine. We started with local Morcilla and Chorizo, followed by shoulder of lamb cooked in their wood oven - wonderful. If we need an overnight stop again, shall definitely chose again. Anything longer than one night, think Salamanca, Toledo etc. The hotel is approx just over 2 hours to Santander.

Great Location, So-So Hotel

Reviewed By Weerobbie

The Good: Terrific location for enjoying Burgos on foot. Very generous breakfast. Efficient Front Desk Comfortable beds. The So-So: Our room was hot - no AC and I have no idea where the ventilation is getting its cooling from, but it doesn't work. PAPER cups in the bathroom that AREN'T replaced each day. Their terrazzo on the roof has an amazing view but the chairs are uncomfortable and the staff rather surly. Our stay was okay but the hotel puts on "airs" it is not meeting.

Great location and beautiful room!

Reviewed By LorrieW834

Stayed here in February 2022, the room was spacious and very quiet, even though we had a window that faced the street. We were steps away from this beautiful walkway--every night people walked the walkway along the river. It also brought you past restaurants and shops. We were two blocks from the Cathedral. This is a safe, beautiful area and the hotel staff was helpful and English speaking. The morning breakfast was delicious. There was a choice of eggs and a bountiful buffet. In the room there was a teapot, an iron and a beautiful bath tub! One night we ate at the bar on the first level because we were too tired to go out and the food was delicious and service was perfect. There is also a spacious gathering area for guests. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Really good for an overnight stay

Reviewed By denners111

We stayed here in April as we were travelling through Spain and wanted to try somewhere different to those previoulsy visited. The staff were really helpful, efficient and friendly with good English too. No onsight food meant we had to go out for a meal but the onsight cafe was good for snacks and drinks. The breakfast offering was included and excellent, we enjoyed this very much. The room and bathroom was very clean and tidy, but no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Parking is available at extra charge, but as this is secure and 24 hour manned, it is worth the cost. We booked here for our return trip as we were so impressed and returned to the same excellent experience in May.

Landa

The beginning of the Landa dates back to 1959. A little restaurant was opened 2 km outside Burgos where travellers used to refresh themselves on their journey along the road which, despite its faults, was then the main route linking the capital with the north of Spain. The commitment of the Landa family to the hotel business dates back to the beginning of the 20th century with the "Real Club de Puerta de Hierro" in Madrid and "La Perla" in San Sebastian, and later with "La Gran Taberna", also in Madrid. The Landa started out during hard times for the Spanish hotel business in non urban areas; the hotel, its various extensions, the tower, the pool, the square... Were incorporated later on, little by little.

What a welcome!

Reviewed By UkRandA

A gem of a hotel. The welcome from the reception team was outstanding. Better than the Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra, Eurostars Hotel Real, Parador de Santiago de Compostela and the Parador de Turismo de Leon. Swimming pool was a plus after a days travelling followed by a relaxing meal on the terrace, overlooking the castle tower. Wonderful.

This attractive hotel is situated in the university area of the city, conveniently just a 5 minute drive from Burgos' old town. The well-equipped accommodation comprises light and airy rooms with lovely wooden floors. We stopped off on our way to Portugal for much needed rest.the receptionist Maria Luz was very welcoming and helpful ,she found me a uk plug adapter to use to charge phone. Room was very clean, bed comfy, temperature control in room .fast running hot water, bath and shower. I was wary at first as this hotel is surrounded by the university but I must say it was extremely quiet outside.Would definitely recommend this hotel

Lovely quirky hotel

Reviewed By IanLaura

Spotlessly clean hotel in the Center of the city with friendly service from reception and the house staff. Very quirky hotel just a minute or two walk from the old town with its plethora of bars and restaurants and fantastic architecture. Art Deco reception and hallways and similar in the rooms. Very secure underground car park just a few meters from the hotel with spaces dedicated to hotel residents. Unfortunately no lift in the car park and it’s 3 flights of stairs to street level. Would definitely stay here again. On a separate note if you want a drink in a friendly little bar the Taverner Celtic Center is just a short walk away.
