Comfortable for a one night stay

Reviewed By Kareen_j15

Our room was a bit run down and although it was clean, was in need of renovation. It was fine for a one night stay, and the external areas had clearly been painted recently, so given some of the other rooms look new, I would assume they are in the process of renovating all rooms. Checkin/out was super simple and there was parking directly outside our room, although lots of kids were riding their bikes and playing cricket next to the cars (there is a playground and grass area), so we were slightly worried about damage to the hire car given the smallish area!

The best B & B in Tasmania that we have come across!

Reviewed By skelly11_11

We have just been back to The French House for a 2nd visit and enjoyed ourselves even more than our first visit earlier in the year. Jan and John are great hosts and provide an unique, in our experience, combination of comfort, welcome and super breakfast. We met another couple there on their 4th visit and they were just as keen as ourselves. What a shame Jan and John have decided to retire this month but we wish them every success for the future!

Warm and inviting with a fabulous host

Reviewed By Sandra N

Peter makes you welcome the minute you arrive. Each room has its own bathroom and our room had a small sitting room where the sunlight streamed in. The rooms are immaculately made up. We even had fresh roses. Peter allows you use of the whole house. He is attentive to every detail and cannot do enough for you. He even takes a beautiful portrait shot of all his guests (best photos of ourselves ever!) Fabulous place to stay in this lovely spot in NE Tassie.

Magnificent

Reviewed By PaulH268

First of all - a big thank you to Stuart and Judy as great hosts. The stay was brilliant and comfortable, we had an upstairs room with incredible views across to the beach. Importantly everything was really clean. Really nice touches like the cheese platter on arrival and the breakfast……..mostly homemade from the bread, jam, yogurt and more. The beach is across the road with easy access and it was great to get up early and go for a walk on the beach. Stuart gave some good recommendations on where to eat in the evening and even made the reservation for us. Wish we had stayed more than one night.

Good basic accommodation

We stayed in one bedroom unit 2 - there was a single bed in the living area also. The kitchen was a bit dated and didn't have much wiggle room, but everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom has been recently renovated and was good. We would have liked to have had a coffee table in the living room. Vicky was on hand to help if needed and was very friendly.
