After many years of hard work, the "Sleeping Beauty" has awoken from its slumber. The city is beautifully restored and has an ultra-modern public transport system. The “Port of the Moon” is also now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Stone Bridge, with its 17 arches, crosses the Garonne, offering pedestrians a lovely view over the docks and harbor. Take a stroll through old Bordeaux in the Triangle d'Or and stop at Place des Quinconces, France’s largest public square. The city of Bordeaux is an ideal base for exploring the greater wine region’s unforgettable sights and tastes.

I went to Bordeaux to visit one of my sons. I travelled in bicycle. There is a safe garage where you can park your bicycle or the hotel offer you to bring it ion the room. Perfect. The rooms have a small kitchenette wit microwave and 2 plates stove, and a fridge. Perfect. You can pay 10 Euro more ans have a view on the lake. Quiet, clean and confortable. There is a little (but complete) supermarket at 20 second walk. The hotel offers also washing machine (6 euro including soap) - usefull for me. The Tram is at 12 minute walk. You are a bit off the city center but it is quiet, nice and it has a good value. I spend 5 nights. At 30 second walk: There is the Caliceo Spa (you can get a 5% reduction) buying the tiket at hotel. There are large pools at 33oC. (would be perfect at 35 oC). It is very relaxing after a day in the vineyard, bicycling or in town.

When we arrived to the hotel we had to wait more than 20 minutes to appear someone at reception, main elevator was out of service, anyway was easy to park and the tram stop right in front of the hotel door was very useful.

Beau studio, bruyant, manque de services

Reviewed By stephaniebP7973WY

Backed Up Toilet

Reviewed By P3469AKkeithc

We booked the L'Escapade Bordelaise at 29 Rue de Temple May 23-25 because of the location in the center of Bordeaux. Finding it was a bit of an ordeal as it sits behind an unassuming Green door with only the number 29 to identify it. It is Less of a hotel and more of a run down boarding house....even if the pictures make it look otherwise. I cannot say that it is in anyway "charming". After one night and a backed up toilet we cancelled and left for someplace nearby that was more sanitary and charming. (they could not put us in another room even though there was no one else there.) However, we have not received any refund and Booking.com hasn't been too much help in this department yet. We will see. In the meantime, my advice is to look elsewhere in this neighborhood for another hotel.

Calme et volupté

Reviewed By Yro56

Strano soggiorno

Reviewed By 268vitoc
