Bolton (/ˈbɒltən/ ( listen) or locally [ˈbɜʏtn̩]) is a town in Greater Manchester in North West England. A former mill town, Bolton has been a production centre for textiles since Flemish weavers settled in the area in the 14th century, introducing a wool and cotton-weaving tradition. The urbanisation and development of the town largely coincided with the introduction of textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution. Bolton was a 19th-century boomtown, and at its zenith in 1929 its 216 cotton mills and 26 bleaching and dyeing works made it one of the largest and most productive centres of cotton spinning in the world. The British cotton industry declined sharply after the First World War, and by the 1980s cotton manufacture had virtually ceased in Bolton.

we went here for our lads 13th birthday, expecting a greek experience, greeter tried to be nice, but was over powering. the menu was over complicated (confusing). after ordering the food, we were told to take our cutlery out of the basket, which was on the table, why? after ordering the meze, we were told how to use the dips ( please!) meze included a greek salad, however no olives came with it. after going to Greece for many years, no bread, no olive oil, maybe we're spoilt.food was average

...and we are pleased that we did. Very attentive service. Everything arrived as per the order and was really nice. There was an option to have skinny or chunky chips so we chose the latter which were nice and different- a bit like little roast potatoes in some ways. At seventy quid for three people (including just three pints of lager) it was a fair bit more expensive than our usual Indian but it made a change and there were no complaints about any aspect which is fair enough I suppose.

We always come to nicks when we want a good steak but last night was a little underpar. Starters were great hubbie had the duck pasta and I had scallops. We thoroughly enjoyed. Steaks came out and I had asked for medium which usually was bob on but last night was more rare. The blood was still oozing out onto the plate. Now many people would love this and I don't mind pink but was a little under for me. I asked the waitress to see if he could cook it little more as it was bleeding. The steak came back and was fine still a little under but I could live with that. But the meat which had vegetables on the plate as well came back on the same plate with cold vegetables which was a little disappointing. But this was remedied and the lovely waitress brought some fresh mash for me. Desert was lovely and the service great. Steak is a matter of choice and didn't detract from the lovely food we had. Next Time I may order medium well.

We normally visit every other Friday for the excellent lunchtime special, great value at £9.95 for two courses plus coffee. Our favourites on the comprehensive menu include Pollo Creme with 3 veg and beef stroganoff which I get with half chips/rice. The meals are always perfectly cooked and well presented together with a bottle of the excellent house wine. The service is always first class and professional thanks to Mo, Jose and staff including Andy the chef. Great atmosphere in this small cosy restaurant that just gets better. Now looking forward to their Valentine menu.

First time visit for me with a few friends . Very smiley welcome on arrival and quickly led to our table . The place is fitted out very nicely and it was quite busy for a Tuesday evening . The service was good with a new beer tried ( king cobra ) , which I believe can be a little difficult to obtain , but excellent and strong at 7.5% . The food order was taken and we were not disappointed. The poppadums were excellent with good relishes and grease free. The curries were top drawer, very tasty and we polished everything off with aplomb. There was no rush to leave and we just lingered while our food digested . A large party of 20 plus arrived after us and they were looked after just as well as us , the service is simply first rate . A great curry house and highly recommended.

Having experienced this restaurant before I was not too enthusiastic about the chips served with my battered haddock as they were rather soggy. My wife's experience with the steak & mushroom pie was much more favourable. The waiters are always attentive but the service could also have been faster with bringing the meal.

I was brought here just before Christmas and I did a review afterwards. Returned today and think the food was even more impressive than it had been in December. I had the chargrilled chicken breast which was delicious. I rarely eat chicken skin but this was crispy and very tasty, accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes and leeks and peas done in a delicious creamy sauce. My weakness is cheesecake and I was delighted to see a passion fruit one on the menu.
I would recommend this place to anyone.

Have had numerous meals in this pub and they have always been excellent. This was our first time for a meal since the new ownership. My meal was lovely I had chicken off the specials board, with new potatoes and veg and I couldn't fault it. The others in the party had chips which looked anaemic and one person had a salad with his food which came in a small pot which consisted of lettuce and not much else. When we walked into the pub someone near the bar was talking very load and he was swearing a lot. The landlord did tell him to watch his language. There was a lot of shouting and bad language in the pub which did put us off going again which is a shame as it is our local.

We have been here a few times when its busy and have had prompt service. Today we popped in and plenty of tables. We were not even acknowledge, so walked and found a t able. Sat down waited ten minutes, waiters walking around looking, messing talking laughing. Eventually we saw a waiter walk past and I had to say "Can we have some service please", the waiter looked disgruntled. We ordered two cappucinos and two paninis. 15 mins later a waitress asked us if we had got our drinks, we said we had ordered them. Seconds later two filter coffees were brought with hot milk, I said no we ordered cappucinos. 5 minutes later the drinks arrived. Another ten minutes and the food arrived, it was bland and normally we get salad with paninis, just plain ridged crisps.
When we finished we got up to leave, my husband paid, the waiters cleared the table and asked if everything was ok so I explained, poor service, lack of promptness and getting the drinks wrong, told them we had been many times but said this was really poor.
They apologised and that was it. Wont be going again. It were not just us though today, we noticed quite a few tables that were looking for service after waiting.

Had a lovely family meal ...... nothing is to much trouble , firstly very busy great atmosphere ..... Emma restaurant Supervoisor managed to find us table was very attentive & polite ... took our order was very pleasant & efficient..... the food was really good from the starters to the mains 4 of us eating and everything was bloody lovely.. thank you Emma & Team .... not forgetting the bar staff Annie as always brilliant fast efficient great rapport with all te customers,,,, well done team 10/10 happy Christmas Annie & Keith x
