Friends who live in France quite locally recommended we find this restaurant while we were at the market. Not a massive frontage & run by a lovely husband & wife couple. She cooks, he is front of house & waits on. We booked a table as the restaurant is not very big, there is seating upstairs as well so don't be put off when looking through the door. We were greeted & our table was upstairs as offered when we booked & by the window. We had the set menu of 2 courses (starter/main, although you can have main/dessert for the same price) about 17 euros a head. All freshly cooked with fresh vegetables!!! Starter was duck terrine for Daryl & tartine of ricotta cheese with Serrano ham for me, followed by the pock in mustard sauce for Daryl & I had a brochette of beef. absolutely gorgeous. The wine was also lovely. Total bill for 2 courses, 3 glasses of wine & 2 espressos, less than 50 euros & we were to full to even try the lovely looking puddings. Mr was congenial & quick to point out it was just him & his wife, & that everything was fresh. Music in the background was English & eclectic, but enjoyable nonthe less. Mrs was happy to join in the conversation whilst in her compact & bijou kitchen. Such lovely people & a divine lunch.What a delight it was to welcome you!! Although I was only here for a coffee whilst I was killing time, I am glad I found this gem of a café.Imagine if you will, being whisked back to a France of the 1950s, a beautiful café interior, with excellent food and a real pleasure to sit and watch the world go by with a café frappé and a piece of excellent apple pie with custard.The owner is a real "patron", with a bonheur, joie de vivre and serves everything with a touch of panache. The ambience is lovely ( it was a lovely sunny day) and speaking to the owner later he was in a like mind with me as to certain things being part of life's great pleasures.I am looking forward to going back next week as a couple for lunch!

Patron plutôt sympa, carte ultra réduite car c'est dimanche mais de quoi nous rassasier. Un peu plus de garniture dans l'assiette ne nous aurait pas dérangé mais sinon correct.
