Osaka Seafood Steakhouse

We always go to Osaka for family birthday dinners! And other times for lunch. However, when we were there for a double birthday dinner in early October, we were so disappointed. First, the chef was, I can only say, boring and slow slow slow!!! Then, the portions were noticeably smaller although the prices were the same. Especially skimpy were the veggies. Might have to change it up for our January birthday dinner. ☹️

Here is a new, but very quiet, unassuming little place to try. You'll find high-quality sushi offerings, decent service, plus authentic sake & Japanese beers... all at a relatively moderate price. It is spooky-quiet here, though: the place just never seems to be busy! (In spite of the convenient location - it's tucked into a corner right across from Apple Valley Home Depot at the busy County 42 & Flagstaff intersection). Try it, you'll like it!

World Buffet

The best part of the world buffet was the mongolian bar, where they make your bowl to order. Apart from that, everything was bland or over seasoned, old, and pretty meh.The service was actually pretty decent for being a buffet, but really not much worth your time here.

After 2 visits my recommendation is that if you are in the neighborhood and want a faster lunch that is a little lighter, SotaRol would be a good choice. They limit their raw fish to tuna and salmon but they also offer tempura shrimp and crab. There are bowl, salads and ramen but I tried a sushi roll and a SotaRito (sushi burrito). The Hawaiian roll was very good but we didn't care much for the Crunchy Spicy Salmon (it was a little dull). The Crab n' Shrimp SotaRito was good but it is hard to eat and the stuffing falls out. The fire sauce makes it spicy.
