Craig's Steak & Schlemmertreff

Steaks on a hot Stone/Carne a la Piedra/Steaks vom heißen Stein. We served our Meat on the hot Stone, so you can cook your own meat how do you like. An excellent inspiring.

It made a change for us to feel like eating steak and it was a pleasant surprise to have a great meal The menu mainly consists of steak or pork, all cooked on a hot stone by yourself at the table. Thoroughly enjoyable. We will be going again this week.

Visited with my wife for dinner. The place is a bit quirky, no frills. The service was excellent. The wine list is non existing - they have three red wines which are presented as Rioja, Ribera Del Duero and House (which is from the North of Spain, if one asks). We had the house wine, which was decent enough. We shared two starters: Tomatoes, which were good but uneven seasoned. Some segments were doused in salt. We also had the baby gem lettuce, which was fantastic! Both had entrecôte for mains, cooked as requested and really really tender. Melt in your mouth stuff. But partially ruined because mine was super salty. I enjoy salt too much, often put on more, but this was over the top. I still ate it all though... The wife's steak was far less salty, she really enjoyed it. I don't really get the chips.... I don't know, I was expecting more. Maybe I was just unlucky. Dear Sir, thank you very much for your review. Yes, you are right, House wine comes from Burgos, a city in the north of Spain. You chose that one after tasting it, and if you had asked for it, you might have tasted all our wines but you didn’t.Regarding the tomato salad, if you had asked, we would have provided you more salt, oil, vinegar or we had even served you a new one if it was not perfect. And finally, concerning the steaks, we went twice to your table to know if they were fine and you said they were delicious. What a surprise to know now that your was too salty, a pity Let me let you know that our goal everyday is our customers to have a great diner and that’s why we ask several times if everything is fine. If you visit us again in the future, please, do not doubt to increase your communication with our staff.
