Sheffield is the birthplace of "country-soul pioneer" and songwriter Arthur Alexander, French horn player Willie Ruff, notable attorney, actor, former senator and presidential contender Fred Thompson, Watergate committee U.S. Senator Howell Heflin and U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, whose father was working in nearby Athens when he was born. It sometimes is referred to as "the City of Senators" due to the births of Heflin, McConnell and Thompson within its borders. Col. Harland Sanders worked in the Sheffield depot for Southern Railway in the 1900s. It is also home to the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio where many popular 20th century musicians recorded their work, including Alexander and Ruff. It is the site of historic Helen Keller Hospital, formerly known as Colbert County Hospital and originally constructed in 1921. It was changed to Helen Keller Hospital in 1979, and Keller's birthplace Ivy Green is located less than one mile southwest of the hospital in adjacent Tuscumbia.

This place has excellent food! The onion soup is really tasty. The steaks are superb. Formal restaurant that you can dine at in business casual attire. Everything is amazing and perfectly cooked! Thank you very much.

You will have time to watch a movie between refills and getting Power bill to go took just to leave took over 15 minutes as we sat and waited I do not recommend this place if you have any type of urgency. Food is great but who has time like this when it's not many people here sitting in the booths. Not the same standard of other restaurantsWe can do much better than this. Food and service were excellent. The tenderloin steak is hickory smoked and was cooked to perfection. The servers all did a great job too. The bar had 3 kinds of red wine, not just "red", and the portions were generous.I have two complaints: It's a large room with no sound reduction - all six surfaces, walls, ceiling, floor are hard, sound reflecting surfaces. With ~ 100 people in there the noise was deafening. You had to shout to talk to the person sitting next to you, and those of us with impaired hearing, our hearing aids were just overpowered.The desert was yellow cake with that disgusting white, fluffy, overpoweringly sweet icing. I know that's exactly what was ordered by the organizers, but it should be a crime to even have that available.

Went with 2 other adults at noon . We all ordered 15 minute express lunch of sandwiches or salad. Waiter said they are out of baked potatoes and salmon and it is noon. Had to ask for rolls. Waiter seemed to disappear for at least 30 minutes. After 1 hour of waiting we finally got food except for one order of fries which we were told would be right out. Food was OK but waiting an hour for food of salad and sandwich was not good. SLOW has always been the history of this Logan's but decided to give it another try. It will be a long time before I try again.We're sorry to hear we fell short of a great dining experience. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and we will be checking in with the store.
