Legends

Visiting our son in Findlay, we decided to try Legends, as he had heard mixed reviews of the restaurant. It's a restaurant that was reopened by same owners with a new name and some remodeling. He hadn't cared for the previous restaurant. We had reservations and were seated right away. The place was busy. Our server was very attentive. All of our food was served hot and was good, with the only exception being the baked beans...not to our liking! The lighting is bright and didn't bother us, but it could be dimmed a bit for additional ambiance. The prices vary depending on what you order, steaks on high side, but everything else reasonable. Despite hearing the mixed reviews, we thought the restaurant was good and would definitely return for another dining experience.

Steve's Dakota Grill

Yelp reviews are awful, mostly about the service. Tripadvisor were better so I figured I’d give it a shot. There indeed was something about this place that I could not put my finger on. I came in at about 830 pm on a Thursday, it was not especially busy. I sat at the bar. Waitress was perfectly fine, fast and efficient. I got a Caesar salad but they needed to use iceberg because of the Romaine recall, in fact it was kind of meager & didn’t look that appealing but it actually tasted great. It was inexpensive but I think it would’ve gotten more votes if it had been, oh say, twice as big? I also got a barbecue burger and fries. The meat was excellent, the roll was soft and fresh. The pickle was excellent. I could probably have counted the fries on one or two hands. OK I’m exaggerating but really, a potato is what - $.10? The portion was so meager that I ordered a side of fries separately and even that was unimpressive. They were good, just I don’t think they got the memo about portion size. Now, to make this even more confusing, salad, two beers, burger, fries, and a side of fries all cost $18.50, which is terrific. But this is the Type of place that comes across as catering to big appetites and I think they need a bit of a refresher course.

I have eaten and written at and about a lot of Outback Steakhouses over the years. I like them because they are clean, cheerful serve good food (usually) and the bartenders and other wait staff are usually friendly and knowledgeable. So how did the Findlay, Ohio Outback get left out of all of that on the night I was there? I ate in the bar with one other guy on a Saturday night around 8pm. Hip Hop was blaring and the only ones enjoying it were the you wait staff. We asked nicely for them to turn it down and were told they had a play list and had to stick to it. Evidently one of the managers heard the discussion and eventually did turn it down, the adventure continued with the arrival of a warm limp salad and then the well done prime rib (Ordered medium rare). No apology, no I'm sorry, no would you like a free dessert. I will give credit to the drink, which was a generous pour.Hello,We’re very disappointed that your visit ended up this way.
