Fujiyama Japanese Steak House

Took 4 birthday folks for annual Japanese tonight. We normally go to another Japanese restaurant in town, but for some reason it was closed tonight. The waiter took our orders, brought our drinks, soup, and salads and then disappeared. The chef had to have several extra things brought because the orders were not correct, and at least 3 times during the meal the chef left to get drink refills, or other items. It was only after we had all our food that I went looking for the manager. We dramatically cut the waiter’s tip and shifted most of the tip to the chef. Now to comment on the food. Servings were large - more shrimp and bigger steaks than elsewhere, but they lacked seasoning disappointing me. Next time, we will go back to the other local Japanese restaurant, and if they plan to be closed on the night we want to go, we will have to pick a different day.

Outback Steakhouse

Here tonight to enjoy the unlimited shrimp special for $15.99. It’s a 6 oz. sirloin with unlimited shrimp, my choice is the garlic and butter sautéed shrimp. You can get larger steaks or add unlimited shrimp to any menu item for $9.99 extra. The special is about $2 less than normal price but free shrimp refills if you have room for them. I always enjoy eating at Outback. I usually pick up a gift card at Kroger’s before I head out to dinner so I can get either 2 or 4 points per dollar at Kroger’s for gas. May as well get steak and $8 off for my tank of gas too! Everything was tasty and cooked properly. Service was great. I did go for a second portion of shrimp as the portion served was smaller, probably due to re-orders. The special comes with only one side - steak or potato whereas normal steak entries come with two sides. Don’t want you surprised or disappointed.

Staying in Augusta and needed a Steak fix. The reviews and menu looked pretty good so booked a table for a birthday dinner. We arrived early to have cocktails at the bar. We were ignored for about 6-7 minutes! Ordered a martini and a “cool as a cucumber cocktail. The martini was on a happy hour special but not the cocktail, didn’t make sense. The cocktail was great though. We both ordered steaks, both were cooked perfectly as ordered. Once again the service was sort of lackluster and dampened what could have been a very good meal.Thank you for dining with us. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed everything about your meal, but please accept our apologies for the initial wait your experienced. We strive for 100% guest satisfaction and look forward to earning your 5-star review.

We dined in early May on a Thursday night as a group of three. The staff were very polite and helpful, and the drinks were served promptly. The only challenge that we encountered with the drinks was that some of the craft choices were sold out. Prices (for a steak house) were on par with what you’d expect. For an alcoholic drink, a starter/side, and a main dish the average bill (per person) was $40.Mains. The full rack of ribs were OK; they tended to be very tender, fall off the bone for the first half of the rack, and then tougher on the other end.The NY Strip was a standard NY Strip; nothing really “wow.” Thanks for coming in to enjoy some cold beverages, ribs & steak Thomas-GenevieveH! We only serve Certified Angus Beef® at TBonz! Hope to see you back soon!
