On the road back to Madrid, we decided to make a stop to discover Medinaceli and have some lunch. It was a bit late, around 15:30, and we had a really hard time finding an open restaurant. This one looked like a good choice and we did not regret it. Tasty appetizers and an excellent grilled steak, served by very helpfully and friendly staff.

Very delicious food, prepared with fresh and tasty locally sourced ingredients...served in generous sized portions. But above all the lamb was very good, perfectly cooked and soooo tasty. To close a wonderful lunch we had âmilhojasâ prepared with local cloth/cream. Highly recommended too.

So close to being Very Good. Everything is good, nice meal, food is good, service ok, location ok, price is ok, etc. It's missing something special to add the "Very", some details so it's easier to remember that you ate there. To be clear, absolutely nothing to complain about, it's good, but just good, not very good.

We had a very enjoyable evening meal here on a Thursday in mid September. For our first course we chose the pate which was smooth and very tasty and accompanied by a lovely savoury 'marmalade'. I was quite intrigued by this marmalade and asked the waiter about it because I couldn't quite work out the main ingredient, he spoke very little English and my Spanish is even worse but he brought me a jar to show me what we were eating and then insisted that it was a present for me! Great! We then shared their signature dish of lamb for two people and thoroughly enjoyed what felt like half a leg of lamb, really tender and full of flavour. No room for a dessert but the bottle of red wine went down well and was well priced. The biggest disappoint was that we were the only two people in the restaurant that evening.

Visited with my wife the owner was very attentive. The menu del dia was excellent probably the best Pigs Cheeks I've ever had. 3 courses a bottle of wine and a brandy to finish only £38 for the two of us. Superb food reasonable prices and friendly service this was just the best experience. Next time we visit we'll stay in the restaurant's hotel.

I have maybe hundred times in front of Medinaceli, and didn't stop until this week. Really worth the stop. Only 10 min away from the highway, the restaurant offered a great "menu del dia", prepared with care and good ingredients. Each plate was delicious. It was one of the best meals we've had this trip in Spain. Really worth it to stop and enjoy a quick glance into the quiet beautiful town.Thank you for your time by typing in tripadvisor in your stay in El Aljibe.When you want, we are here!!!Thank you.

We only stopped here for coffee but the place was lovely. The man behind the counter was so nice and friendly we had a slice of cake each and would have stayed for lunch but the weather was so very cold we had to move on.Muchas gracias por su comentario!!!Nos alegra saber que les gustan nuestras cosas de la cafeterÃa!!!Les esperamos!!!Un saludoLaura
