The expectation were pretty high, we had read some reviews about this place and we decided to go and give it a try.Every bite was magnificent. Good presentation, nice atmosphere (inside or outside), interesting proposals, really tasty dishes...There is a resume of the experience:1). Tuna Tataki: My previous experience with tatakis had been not so satisfied. People used to say a good tataki is magnificent, but I would disagree on that. Well; this time, tataki was perfect. It has all I ever asked. It was a little cooked so you can see the different color to the inward. It comes with two sauces aside just in case you’d like to try, and with some algae salad. The feeling in your mouth was indescriptible. Soft, tender, perfect fission between the tuna and the sauces with sesame seeds... wow.... in a word: fascinating 2). Ceviche: Although I had tried a few different ceviches. Every time I have the chance I like to try different versions of it. I must say this was one of my favorites. Very original, using exotic fruits and foam on it. It has the right acidity and the crunchy side with fried banana... fantastic proposal.3). Smoked prawns: this was a really original dish. At first sight it doesn’t seem any novel. They took an apparently simple dish and make it really unique with a hint of smoke on it. Once they uncovered the lid you notice the bouquet, and when you put the good into your mouth, you get yourself seduced with the unusual taste.Wonderfully combined. Simple and original.

Club Laurel has a great setting and a good ambiance, although too much of the seating is outdoors for January evenings. The service is pretty good, but the food isn’t up to other restaurants in Playa Santiago, for quality or quantity, and you pay more.Dear customer, Thank you for your comments regarding your experience in our Club Laurel Restaurants. It is regrettable that the meals did not meet your expectations. The food in our Club Laurel is 100% natural and offers a very healthy culinary option. However, it also good that there is some variation in the village of Santiago and that you could take advantage of the variety on offer.Best regards,

Amazing food that changes daily. The staff are very helpful and really friendly. Although it's Tapas the portions are large. We picked four plates and ordered another later on for four of us. The battered squid and potato salad was exceptionally good, the eggs and sausage even better. Great food at a sensible price. Probably the best restaurant in the village and not to be missed.

La Gomera has some very good restaurants but with the exception of the Orone they all only offer Canarian potatoes or salad to accompany the chose main course. The Swiss chef at this establishment, provides delicious and innovative vegetables. The monkfish and prawns on a skewer with orange sauce, the Iberian pork with berry sauce and the correctly cooked tuna are highly recommended.Exceptional - well done

On a recent holiday in Playa de Santiago we went to this restaurant a couple of times and were not disappointed on either occasion. The food is well done, the service is good, the vale for money is excellent and the atmosphere nice. The highlight for me was the John Dory which my wife and I shared on our first visit... Excellent!

Trademark setting in a cave near the port. We sat outside as the temperature was perfect. Service was good, with some lapses. The seafood was varied with some dishes outstanding (pulpo vinaigrette, king mackerel) and some of the fish was so so, lots of bones and dry. Expensive by local standards but probably worth it

Small place located right on the coast, with a nice atmosphere. We regret to communicate that we do not work with reservations.

Have eaten here many times and feel so sorry for them that the seafront construction is so far behind schedule and still causing them problems (they currently don’t open at lunchtime due to the noise and dust). The wonderful view of the harbour is temporarily obscured by a high fence around the building works. Please DONT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF going in the evening as the food is still excellent- especially the fish. Good wine served too. The head waitress can be a little severe but soon warms if you smile nicely! So concentrate on the food and wine and you’ll have a lovely time. Especially good starter is Clams in white wine, then go for whatever catch of the day is. It will be beautifully cooked and very tasty.

Four of us called in here for a welcome drink after the walk down the Benchijigua Valley - excellent spot, super-welcoming host & excellent ambient music playing quietly in the background. We didn’t eat (we’d had our sandwiches already) but we’re still served some delicious potato and chorizo tapas for free - a great touch. A couple of other walkers there said the homemade soup (almost a stew) was delicious too. A little gem of a place, and great to see how popular it was - it deserves it.
