We went there for dinner and we had fried calamari and octopus as entree. While the calamari were delicious the octopus was served with peas and sauce which extremely strength the taste of this fish. Same story for branzino: extremely good quality of food but too much dressed with other flavors. Sweets were nice.Surely it deserve another visit as the quality of ingredients is excellent however I suggest to make things simpler.

Recently dined there with a small group of about a dozen friends. The food was excellent and well-prepared. The service was exceptional, the waiters were attentive and helpful. Prices were reasonable considering the more than ample portions served.

Archar Seafood

The owner, Mike, is indeed a very knowledgeable and completely honest fishmonger with an exceptional ability to treat all his customers well and give his customers the best fish to suit their desires (whether it is a set of glistening fish heads to make a great west African stew, carp and pike for home-made gefilte fish, or sushi grade tuna, or just the very best swordfish you have ever tasted). Mike's colleague, Fran, is the soul of kindness, patience, and, like Mike, a master at filleting and cutting fish. The store is simple, but the depth and variety of its offerings are much larger than one might expect because the store also serves as the "headquarters" and warehouse area to support a larger wholesale to restaurants business. The store does sometimes smell of fish. That can be off-putting. BUT when you smell the actual fish you are about to buy, don't expect a fish smell; it won't be there. The freshness and quality are outstanding (like the Nassau Seafood Market in Princeton) and the prices (unlike Nassau) are much less likely to cause you to take out a bank loan to pay for dinner. I have shopped here for years and trust Archar for excellence, reliability, consistency, and willingness to bring in special orders from their markets to suit any reasonable request. (One final note: while it is true this is not a restaurant, I have seen countless clams and oysters shucked for customers, on order, lobsters steamed, and, though I have never purchased them, blue crabs boiled by the bushel. So, while you can't eat there, you can get pretty close to having a take out meal from Archar and, since they do not have a deep fat fryer (or at least I don't think they do), if you choose wisely, Archar can save you from having anything fried! You'll just have to fry (or broil or poach) your fish at home!

Bonefish Grill

I'm not a big fan of this chain to begin with and tonight maintained my opinion of it. I've been to the one in the Bridgewater area and had much better experience there. I sat at the bar and the male bartender seemed to be cranky and not very sociable at all. Thank God there was a 2nd bartender as she was much more on the ball. Food came out fast as it always does but the portions were so tiny I definitely left hungry. The lobster tail was perfect I will say that, but the sides were very tiny portions that the meal wasnt worth the $17.9 cost. Oh well. This was a gift card I received so I should be able to use up the balance on the next visit and not have to worry about ever coming back.
