Cashier was handling food and money without gloves, cook using same gloves for raw and cooked/served food, all orders were wrong, expensive, over cooked chili dogs with chili splattered all over the place, the cashier had to ask the customers what THEY ordered!!! One customer ended up leaving- he ordered before us and they lost his order. They said they would make it, but after a few minutes he inquired again and the cook said it's cooking ...and nothing was on the grill!!!Told the manager about the experience and he seemed like he really didn't care...

We eat here many times a year and last night we ate here for the first time this season. It was worst than terrible. How do you ruin steamed shrimp and clams? Let me tell you, let the C-Pier cook them for you or serve you seafood that is just not fresh enough to eat. Whichever it is, you can bet I am not taking my family here again and spend a fortune to eat junk. The shrimp were mushy and the clams tasted like chlorine. Another case of new management that doesn't know what they are doing. Beautiful location (hence two stars instead of one) so just go and have a drink or two and then eat at one of the many nice restaurants in town.

We have eaten here three times in the past four weeks. It is an awesome spot right on the water so we went once by car and twice by boat. Here is the reality. If you like eating mediocre food this is the place for you. Having said that this is the nicest bay front located restaurant on the Eastern Shore!!! We will keep coming back to sit, have a drink, and eat so so food at the most beautiful restaurant location on the eastern side of the bay.

The beautiful Easter Shore, great beer, great atmosphere were the highlights of the visit! The food was average at best... tuna steak burger was frozen and the over cooked. They could do so much more with the type food served being from the shore!

Visited on recommendation from friends. Good portion sizes and friendly service. Basically a hole in the wall at an Exxon gas station/convenience store. Got the fried shrimp, oysters, and clams with hush puppies, cornbread, and potato salad. Food was great but clam strips were a tad over cooked. Busy place.

The Shanty is just as good a year later. We both had fried shrimp and it's so light and cooked to perfection and hot. Of all the restaurants we've eaten this is the best.Service was quick and the wait staff was attentive. Next time we're in the Cape Charles area we will stop in again.

Now called Hook @ Harvey and over by marina. We were fortunate to find seats at bar because no reservations available (small size and worth the wait). Incredible lamb and scallops. A âDo not missâ kind of place.
